I only had a piece of cod it wasn’t very big but it had a nice crispy batter and the fish tasted fresh I actually enjoyed it as for the other stuff they do I can’t comment but fish wise I’m pleasantly surprised but it seems this place like many are not consistent
A few months ago there wasn't a place I'd recommend more if you wanted good value for money fish and chips, now I'd say stay away. They've forgotten items on the order a few times now, chips have become tasteless, fish is starting to get worse, the gravy sauce might as well be water and this isn't a one time thing, find a different chip shop.
What an absolute shocking effort to provide a food service, chips where stone cold, might aswell have given me the raw potatoes and I could have cooked them myself, the sausage in batter tasted like tinned dog food, but the kind that nobody buys. I think this place needs it's food licence taken off them. Avoid at all costs
It's not the most appealing looking chip shop, quite dated, but the chips were cooked while I waited, the chicken looked tasty & I'll be trying the potatoes next time as they looked yum.
Just fancied fishcake, chips & beans, haven’t had it for years, and sick of eating salad from the supermarket as I’m stopping in a nearby hotel. Fast service, food was still hot when I got back 10 - 15 mins later. Professional service, & Really enjoyed the food, would use ‘Fancy Fry’ again. Good tasty fishcake but had better, hence 4 & not 5 stars.
Unfortunately, my so called cod this evening was terrible. The fish was thinner than the batter and each bite oozed oil in to my mouth. The chips were nice but far too cold A real shame as I was looking forward to it.
I ordered large fish and chips which turned up very quickly. The chips were cold mushy and tasteless, the cod was probably the worst I've ever eaten so left most of it and went to bed hungry. Wont be ordering from here again
Waited 1hour and 20 minutes for our food on a Tuesday! When it arrives the spring roll was small and cold. The chips were animic and the cod was strangely very flat and socked in oil. I would not recommend and will not be ordering from them again.
Ordered on line direct from shop Scampi burnt ,chips awful extra hair included free ,1 peice of southern fried chicken still had blood in it not impressed They used to be quite good will not be using them again
Ordered fish for 7£ something saying jumbo but was a normal size and doesn't include chips... The fish was in a pool of water and ended up in the bin, horrible. The chips are really bad and look horrible they taste like cold chips that have been microwaved. The battered sausage was okay though.
