I purchased my wedding dress from here. I found the staff to be helpful and flexible with fitting times. I did find their alterations to be very pricey though for what was needed to be done for this reason it's 4 stars. Also they had a large selection of modern and unique dresses. This was the only bridal shop which had the exact dress I was looking for with sleeves. One particular lady was very helpful in this shop.
Sherry and her team worked with my 2 bridesmaids and I to design and make 3 dresses to suit the 3 of us. Throughout the process, we were treated with total care and courtesy whilst also being guided to make choices that would result in the best possible outcome for each of us. My wedding was held on Friday last week and all 3 dresses looked beautiful, I felt a million dollars! Thanks so much sherry for all the effort and skill used to create our dresses...can’t wait for the alterations now to change mine into an evening dress in time for our forthcoming cruise honeymoon!
Their customer service and the quality of work is amazing. I went in with an idea of the dress i wanted as I couldn't find it anywhere else. Sherry and her team were able to make my dream dress. I couldn't recommend anyone else to make or alter a dress for you. Thank you so much.
I paid for my dress in full and they wouldn't let me take my dress till I had a date ! And due to this I asked for a refund and it was clear I wasn't having that either! They started alterations with out me even having a dress fitting!! When I had my date set they allowed me to collect the dress 40 minutes before I was to be married I attempted to step in my dress to find the zip broke and sherry at to send a girl out to fix it! I would not recommend this dress shop,be aware if you pay for your dress in full and there are any complications in your life it's a no to any refund
Good dresses but you can only try on in store if you are a size 8. Staff were friendly and helpful and you could order a dress in your size after you had picked, but I couldn't choose a dress and spend that much money based on what I 'think' it might look like on me.
I am sad to report my experience with Fairytales was a rather negative one. I came to Newcastle to visit a friend and I am getting married within 2 months. After a referral, I came to Fairytales and managed to find an end of line dress that fits me. The staff on the day were very pleasant and helpful and I felt re-assured that this is the right place and the right dress. Due to some complications, I originally was due to come up for some tailoring but did not need to in the end. I called the company and discussed my situation. As I live 3 hours away, I made arrangements to come to Newcastle very early in the morning on a set day to pick up my dress. Fairytales re-assured me on the phone that my dress will be ready and cleaned for me to pick up. When I arrived, after a 3 hour drive, having to set off at 5:30 in the morning, the person who greeted me was surprised to see me there. I was then informed that my dress was not on the premises and has not been cleaned either. I was advised I could either pick it up dirty or I have to come back. As I had to run to an interview in Sheffield, my fiancee then has to liaise with Fiarytales on the phone and negotiate for them to send us the dress as we do not have the time or funds to come up again. We also queried why no one called us and saved us the 3 hour trip. After what I am told was an unpleasant conversation it was agreed that the dress will be mailed to us even though Fairytales wanted us to pay for it, but agreed to cover the cost in the end. The dress arrived and was packaged in a plastic bag. No professional dress bag with it - I had to buy one myself. So overall this was not a pleasant experience. It is a real shame because the staff in the shop were so friendly and supportive. But the communication was very poor and we felt we were treated terribly as customers. My advice would be that if you're a local resident - you will hopefully not experience the issues I have. Otherwise, be aware of my experience.
Had my wedding dress & two very beautiful bridesmaids dresses made by Sheri & her amazing girls we were all 3 very different ages with 3 totally different dress ideas & Sheri & Racheal managed to design & please us all perfectly thank you so much you made our day perfect xx
I love the selection of dresses at Fairytales, the service is fantastic and they are very warm and friendly and have great advice to give! 5/5!!

Appalling Appalling service Appalling experience Appalling quality Rips tears and pulls in fabric No support for bust Lining hung lower than dress registrar had to safety pin lining Sherry bled on my dress on fitting, removed her blood with a tatty tea towel and her spit Only wore dress for ceremony as my bust was exposed Wedding photos are a constant reminder of my bust being exposed and ruined our special day No genuine apology from sherry Went for second opinion on dress: Summary Should have had a proper corset to support bust No loop stitches to keep lining in place Shocked at quality of fabric Conclusion overpaid said the dress maker ........ Would not recommend
