Not really a hotel as such! Lodges of varying sizes. From two bedrooms. Some with hot tubs. Noteworthy details: An excellent location for exploring the whole area of Ayrshire and surrounding area. Beautiful countryside. GREAT walks from Brunston into the surrounding countryside.
We were in a 6 person lodge, went with another retired couple. The lodge had everything you needed, it was quiet and well presented, however the one little detail needed were hooks behind the bathroom doors otherwise no complaints here. The area was very well maintained, I would say it's not really a place for kids, as there really isn't a lot to do for them., we enjoyed going out everyday visiting the local area, wow, what beautiful scenery , its just a shame that the local towns and villages are so run down, however the people there are very polite and found them extremely helpful , I would recommend a visit to this lovely little gem, very relaxing sitting on the varander. Some of the roads are very narrow but well maintained. A must place to stay, very clean and well insolated. Would happily stay again. 10/10
Nice scenery. Staff in reception friendly. Pool table, table tennis, pitch and put golf, pool, sauna and gym. Marked down because of location, there is very little to do nearby especially for children. Girvan is 6 miles away with a fantastic Indian restaurant.Rooms: 3/5
Very average. The pictures don't show what it's really like. Hot tub was cold. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest and I felt like there was no one around and nothing to do but sit in a cold hot tub. For the price, they have an utter cheek asking for what there asking. Maybe £50 a week and I would consider it. Trust me, I've been to a few lodges and this one is just dated. Shop around and please don't waste you're money on an outdated and badly needing refurbished lodge. There's tons of better ones at better prices. I'm still in shock at what they charge.
Great self-catering lodges. Smart modern furniture and decorated to a high standard. Some have hot tubs, all have verandas. Location a little out of the way, but beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Pool, sauna and fitness room on site. Vehicle required I would say. Fabulous stay!Rooms: 5/5
The best accommodation I've ever booked through hoseasons. The accommodation is very clean and tidy, lovely and modern, the layout of the property is perfect. I could actually pick it up take it home and move in! They have everything you could ask for and more. Even the beds are comfortable. I'm very impressed with the whole thing. The staff checked on us during our stay both via text and calling us which I thought was a lovely touch. The swimming pool and cafe bar a great accessory to the place. If I had to be critical about anything at all I wish the shower was a bit more powerful but there was a bath too! The location was quite remote but that's what we like. There was a great shop outside of the complex 5 mins down the road. And 20/30 mins loads to do.
Lovely break for all ages. Visited with my wife and 4 children in Aug 2022 first week. Very relaxing break. Good basic facilities and activities on site e.g. swimming, table tennis, pool table, and mini golf. You have to pay £0.50 for a game of pool. Small coffee shop that has basic treats which you can enjoy in a lovely lounge which over looks the small indoor pool. They only do pizza if you are hungry, so bring your own food if you are staying for a few nights. There is a local shop near by, and a small Morrisons too where you can get essentials. Ayr is around 30-40mins drive.. plenty of stores there if you go that way. Not many petrol pumps near by. So fill up if you see one on your travels. You will need to drive to Girvan 15min drive to get groceries from the small Asda if you are short on food. Asda also do deliveries to the park if you book in advance. Access to the park is done via an electronic card which is issued on arrival. Worth noting that this is a pet free park. Even though all the lodges were occupied, there was peace and quite throughout the day and night. Well kept grounds. Paid laundry service in reception building. Some lodges have washing machines without dryers. Our lodge also had a dishwasher. So bring your own dish washer tablets and detergents, etc. Basic cutlery and plates, etc in lodges. Microwave, kettle and toaster provided. Also plenty of fridge / freezer space. Kitchen was very clean and tidy. Towels and toilet rolls provided. But you have to buy your own toilet rolls if you run out. So bring extra. Also have to pay a charge if you want fresh towels from reception. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Bathrooms had a shower, and some have a bath tub. Reception staff are very welcoming and friendly. They work very hard at keeping customers happy. They pretty much manage the whole site. Donna and Gemma were really helpful and polite during our stay. Simone is also very helpful. She gave us plenty of information about the local area and explained which beaches were worth visiting. Thank you
Recently stayed at brunston Castle with my wife and baby and overall I was not impressed. Was asked by the guest relations team if I was interested in getting a refund for my utility bill if I would carry out a tour of the site and listen to lodge prices. I agreed but was continously hassled while on holiday and had my appointment changed and lost only to turn up to my appointment to be told it was double booked. I was told for all the inconvenience I would still be refunded this utility bill but it is no where to be seen and no calls are being answered by the team and when I call reception they are unable to help. Not impressed and not what should he expected while I am on holiday The lodge overall was average and in much need of modernisation. I visited 15 years ago and it was the exact same . For the price that you pay you would expect it to be clean and modern but it was neither of the two . The pool was not heated and unsuabale due to it being heated. Much better lodges out there and I will not be back
Well run holiday park. Sited on top hill of a golf field. Beautiful place. Used swimming pool and gym, as we went during low season, they both worked well for my family. Near by village is walking distance. There are a few walking trails start s from there. we went three of them, the river walk take you to the two castles. The hill top one take you to top of the valley with view of endless wind farm at one side and far reaching sea and islands on the other. Two beautiful beaches within 15 minutes drive. High quality golf clubs all over the area.
Nice location, middle of nowhere, most of the staff was great minus one woman who was very rude. Not sure I could recommend that place as she was very unhelpful and offered no solution. Outside of that lady who was rude 2x, everything else was lovely.Rooms: 5/5
