Fairburn Community Primary are doing fantastic work with my two daughters. I really can not praise the staff highly enough. Both my children look forward to going to school and love to stay in breakfast club / after school club. All the staff are approachable and friendly. There is always a warm welcome and if I ever need a quick chat I am always made to feel at ease.
Fairburn school with the Emma Cornhill at it's helm is a supportive, kind, gentle and inclusive environment for children of all abilities to grow and learn. My two boys attended school here and speak highly and with fond memories. My eldest had a bit of a shaky patch along with his group of friends small school lots of boys! But as soon as Emma was appointment as the head things certainly turned around and she has taken the school from strength to strength. Most of us parents there are the very odd exceptions! wish our children to be happy whilst learning, Fairburn primary school is that place. A big heartfelt thank you to Emma and Miss Grimshaw..... Miss Honey springs to mind!
My eldest son has attended the school for four years he has not once said he doest want to go, he is fully involved in his education and throughly enjoys picking his own topic to learn about. He moved into class two last year and the support he got from the class one teacher was wonderful and really supported his transition. The head and deputy head are fantastic and have real presence in the school. My youngest started school in September, he is so relaxed about going to school he waves me off on a morning with a beaming smile. He is the master of his own day free play is encouraged and the environment is enabling for all. Both my boys are taught by some wonderful teachers that really care about the children on a human level and not ponies in a race to cross a line or pass exams. My children are happy. My children are cared for and truly listened to. My children are valued, My children are learning happily and at their own pace : well done to all and thank you.
I am so sad to read some off the reviews on here .My granddaughter goes to the school and can't wait to get there .She's coming on leaps and bounds and is so happy .Emma is one of the nicest head teachers I have ever come across .I really don't think she deserves any of the negative reports she is being given .ps I'm not a relative to either her or any other member of staff .I speak as I find and it seems that a lot of village people have so much to say negative well I will have my own opinion and I can assure you it is very POSITIVE . Freyas nan .
Mrs Cornhill by far is one of the best teachers and head of school asset anyone could wish for their child’s education She leads her team of teachers striving for an outstanding school which she has and is constantly encouraging new innovative methods of teaching and providing a dynamic learning environment for the pupils She has a thorough understanding of behaviour and each individual child in a none judgemental attitude towards all who attend I can only think that any poor reviews on this site have been written to cause distress and not factual and one of them in very ignorant poor taste which is a disgrace Please anyone interested in choosing this school do so with the utmost confidence do not be taken in by mischief makers Grandma
