Always find what I need. A bit hit and miss with staff. Being a novice sewer, I need help and was lucky to get the assistant who was willing to show me things. The other lady, in today, was just gesturing in the direction of what people asked her for. Over all, I would def recommended this shop.
Upon entering the shop I could feel a cloud of misery looming over me as if Satan himself was having a little Easter shop around Cascades. My fiancee had ordered something for click and collect and because she is unwell I went into town to collect it. I had the confirmation email and the card that she paid on, but that simply was not good enough. Because I hadn't ordered it they refused me collection and insisted that my partner had to go in with photo identification or, call the warehouse and ask them to call the shop to say whether or not they could give me permission to collect what had already been paid for. I to would have to provide photo ID and I don't know, a retina scan, a blood sample and a pot of urine. It's a fabric shop for God's sake, nobody was asking for government secrets. They leave millions of people's personal information on the train can get into Parliament with a card swipe but you want to buy some frilly edging, well you best be prepared for a full medical. But it was not just that that made this simple shopping trip one of hellos proportions, oh no. The staff in the shop were really, really rude. To the point that I was getting annoyed. I am normally a very calm natured man, but at that moment, being in that shop around people who I am now quite sure had their customer service skills training with the Nazi Party had me reeling. With each question I asked they just humpfed as if I was a burden to them. Well I am sorry for coming into a shop to purchase materials so you can stay gainfully employed and continue to fund whatever satanic rituals they go through in their team building days. All in all the shop is awful, customer service is awful and the shopping experience is...well you can guess. I gave one star because I can't give 0 or minus stars and they did sell what my fiancée needed. Well, what she had ordered but wasn't allowed to have unless going through more checks than a Russian double agent.
This place won’t be re opening, it was announced on their Facebook page. Big shame for them and everyone else. I really liked this branch. Blame the shopping centre for insane rent rises. Soon Portsmouth will havé no good shops. Fabricland is great for cheap and quality fabric their online store is slightly cheaper than the shop or try the Southampton branch.
Always have a little sparkle in stock. I'm a crafter and they usually have items to tempt me. Girls are great and have good knowledge. Prices are very reasonable.
As a local cosplayer, I find myself naturally going to this place. I've spent years going to this shop and buying fabric for various things. PVC fabric for Hatsune Miku's arm warmers, to felt for simple plush toys. And as of writing this review, faux leather and white cotton for my X-Wing Pilot costume. As a introvert, I normally don't ask the staff for anything because I never find that I need to. Overall, I've never had a problem with the staff member. It isn't the biggest shop for what it would do, but for me, I have no problem with it. When I can't get something in this location, I just catch a bus to Southampton to visit the Fabricland over there. As a whole, it is a fairly good shop. Stocks a average variety of fabrics for budget friendly prices and fairly nice staff members.
Really unhappy with the staff in the shop. I popped into the shop.with my 2 children to pick up a little fabric for a school project. My son was spinning one of th displays. He wasn't hurting anyone breaking anything or casing any harm and a woman told him off. My son freaked and threw items across the store. First of all he's my son you don't need to disaplin him, second of all he's Autistic so what happend after you addressed him is not his fault and he is not 'a brat'. Educate yourselves in something other than material.
I went in the shop first time but it will be my last time. Staff were rude. Initially when I walked in, they were staring at me, then later Two staff were making fun of what I was wearing, they thought I could not understand English!
There is a lot of fabric, but not a lot of "types" of fabric. Despite wandering and having a thorough look, walked out with some lining fabric and that is all. Wanted some red cotton drill, bamboo jersey and ribbing fabric so nothing unusual. Back to my normal internet shops then I did try to shop.local!
Really happy with the quality of service, good products and great prices! Highly highly would recommend going there. Made the likes of eBay sellers look like fools, and their prices vs quality far out weighed any one else
A great selection of all sorts. Good value price fabrics Friendly and helpful staff And 60 percent discount on Tuesdays for over 60's customers!
