We've visited This pleasant, small park with the children several times. There are many friendly dogs, but unfortunately, some people don’t pick up their dog’s mess, and we usually only notice a bit scattered around. We’ve seen numerous older children enjoying themselves, playing responsively in the football area each time we've visited. A nice, flat concrete path surrounds the grassy field and makes for a nice little walk, with some gym equipment scattered around. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed quite a lot of litter lying around each time we visit; our first visit was about a month ago. They also have a nice playground, tennis courts, and a bowling area, which seems popular with older folks. They also have a nice but small water play feature for the children. It’s cobbled surrounding it, so very young children would need help accessing it, and it has mini damns that you can open and close, which can increase the depth of water in the centre, making it into a big puddle to splash in. It's a lovely park, but it could do with more bins and a cleanup. We tend to find parking readily on a culdesac adjacent to the park. Playground: Lovely playground, with a variety of equipment for a large range of ages. Includes climbing nets, swings, a net swing, a climbing frame, crazy golf but you need your own clubs and ball. There’s a climbing frame and slide. The playground isn’t closed off though, unfortunately. Dog-friendliness: Very dog-friendly. Hardly any dog mess. Popular for dog-walkers. Picnic area: There’s a few benches scattered around the park. Nice scenery’s from them and two are by the children’s play water feature.
Possibly the best park in Swadlincote Town, located very close to the high Street. The top of the park offers scenic beauty from herbaceous flower beds, mature trees, rose arch and running water from landscaped features. Large sports fields are well maintained.
A lovely local park, well maintained, clean and tidy. There's still grounds keepers doing a great job of looking after the place, well maintained toilets and free use of the tennis courts.
On the whole it's maintained to an average standard nothing special. Poor strimming , no edging up with shears of the grass edges. Bed edges have no definition. Lack of weed control in beds. The water course badly needs a clean up. Grassed areas not the best to walk upon as they are not using grass tyred on their tractor causing deep marks in turf Park not helped by litter strewn everywhere...time to dish out some littering fines. One dead tree near brook needs to be felled and replaced. Playground: Plenty for children to play on until the litter louts spoil the area. Dog-friendliness: It's a good place to walk your dog, even on a lead. You do see the odd individual letting their dog have a burn off. Picnic area: Tatty poorly kept usually litter strewn even though council have put enough bins there.
Used the bowling green on Saturday and it was really clean and lovely to play on . Thumbs up for the new facility being built for club.
Good, nice little water canal made for kids with water gateway system, big area to walk, many mini golf fields, play ground for kids.
Lovely park great for a walk with or without a dog. Playground: There is a large children's play area Dog-friendliness: Great for walking the dog
Good wide open public space! Nice water feature
Eureka Park developed from a simple recreation ground during the 1920s. Named after a coal seam which runs beneath it, it is a green oasis situated on Midland Road, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE11 0BA. The park was restored in 2014 with a Heritage Lottery Grant.
Lovely walks around this park
