This was truly one of my favorite dining experiences I've had in my life. The food was 'eyes rolling to the back of your head' deliciously surprising with every bite. Our Server was so educated on both the beverage and food menu, was engaging and had a sophisticated wit. We ended up befriending our table neighbors and engaging in culinary & foodie conversation and ended up toasting to her celebrating a fun win. If you're going to celebrate, treat yourself or just want the triple threat in Food, Beverage and Hospitality this is your new favorite place... I can't wait to visit again.
Wow! I had one of the best dining experiences in New York at Estela. The food was superb in so many ways! The restaurant is quite small, so even with a reservation, we had to wait a little to be seated. However, the ambiance with the loud music and lively conversations made the place exciting. The service was excellent, and the menu was designed for sharing. The scallops were particularly outstanding - they literally melted in my mouth. The Ramon ibérico and endives, though simple dishes, were incredibly flavorful. For dessert, the lychee sorbet was a refreshing and delightful choice. Overall, it was an incredible dining experience and I can't wait to go back. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options! Dietary restrictions: They were very attentive with my dietary restrictions. Thank you! Wheelchair accessibility: A couple stairs before getting to the restaurant. Didn’t see elevator.
The scallops here will change your life. Actually this entire restaurant will change your life. The two dishes I recommend are the scallops and the crab—amazing. The staff are also very attentive and we also had a sommelier approach us to help us choose a bottle of wine. Great place, 10/10 recommend Food: 5/5
What's not to love? My husband and I recently enjoyed lunch at Estela and we enjoyed everything about our meal. The restaurant is stylish and inviting and we cozied up to the bar for an exquisite dining experience. The staff is unpretentious and extremely well versed in the food menu and wine list. We had a crusty artisan sourdough bread and grilled lobster to start. My husband thought it was the best lobster he's ever had. The spring pea salad was delightful and the duck to die for. We were both so happy we made a last minute reservation to this culinary gem.
Wow. Estela is now our new favourite restaurant. The food was amazing without the arrogance or over the top environment of some of the other NYC restaurants. If you’re looking for truly amazing food and environment this is the place.Food: 5/5
Very nice place with amazing service and personal touch at the bar. Though quite loud and trick to talk to more than one person it has been a very enjoyable visit. Food was tasty, however not as outstanding as the price asked for.
I mean it’s pretty easy to see why this place is one of the Crown Jewels of the NYC food scene, and even bigger than that, probably one of the more beloved restaurants in the country. Service was great, food was outstanding and the vibe for lunch was relaxed and composed. Don’t come here for brunch. Come here for LUNCH. It’ll be a bit easier to get a spot and you’ll enjoy almost all the same offerings.The peas, omg. THE PEAS!!!!!!! Negroni was stellar!!!!! Food was out of control good, and we had the usual suspects! Yeehaw!!! P.s. huge ups to our kind server who was nice enough to write a list of his favourite joints in the city and leave it with us. Made a great impression and was very much appreciated!
Top ten fav restaurants for me in the city, some of the best staff and new American menu I’ve ever had. Everything on the menu is a must try but some of my favs are the jamón ibérico, black rice and pork. Wine selection was amazing! Highly recommend this place!Food: 5/5
UPDATE-my fourth visit to Estela it’s becoming a habit to dine with them when I’m in NY and this time I had Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and well presented, as always. However-my waitress came to the table with a mask on. This is mid-2024, Covid was over many years ago. She was the only person with a mask-in 2024 if you’re wearing a mask I find it incredibly rude and annoying. It’s as though you’re saying everyone around you is sick and you can’t breathe their air. If you’re that worried about germs don’t work in public. Any more, it’s either a criminal or a crazy liberal that wears a mask-tell me who you voted for without speaking! I find it very strange and a huge turn off. Further, I had to ask her multiple times to repeat things she said as it’s very difficult to understand someone speaking through a mask. I would have a no mask policy if I were managing the restaurant. Also-and I have noticed this the last several times dining-their white napkins lint like crazy. My second visit to Estela-both fantastic. My first visit-as I finished my ribeye I said, “this is the restaurant I want to dine for my birthday”. My second visit, was for my birthday, and I couldn’t have picked a better restaurant. Every dish is ad beautiful and delicious. My stand outs; The ricotta dumplings are divine. The steak tartare is delicious-very different from any I have had before-and served with delicious warm bread. And the best-is the wagyu steak—-mmmmmmm delicious. Staff is welcoming and attentive. I can’t say enough good things about estela.
As you walk the place is generally jam packed with people every night of the week. We got checked in and seated right away. The dishes we ordered were delicious but I'd say two were definitely over salted. The black rice dish was superb in terms of flavor just wish they slowed down on the salt it had so much incredible flavor. The fish was over salted as well. The dumplings were executed perfectly as I know dumplings well The waiter was professional but not particularly warm.
