OMG, these guys have literally everything! Rolled up at random and drooled at the drawers of ‘stuff’ I was like a kid in a candy shop! So much stuff to buy, ended up spending over fifty quid on ‘shiny stuff’ ….just because. Having spent my youth in many a Maplin, this shop is now my favourite more adult version! Once I’m home, I’m gonna have to dig out a bunch of projects and see what they have , I’m feeling a need to have a massive board full of 74LS chips :-p Thankyou!!
Bought capacitors here with their prompt and helpful service. I restored to life my elderley Miele Freezer Thermostat board back to full working condition and my failing 28" Hanns.G monitor power supply sprung back to life after fitting their new capacitors. Very happy and moreover the potential electronic waste was saved from landfill!
Great shop, they have lots of sensors, microcontrollers and other fabulous gadgets. You can also order specific items if they don't stock them. Did not expect to find that here - so happy I did! And really friendly staff. Yay!
They are the one and only north east company who will deal with the general public without having to have an account and without a minimum spend/quantity requirement for orders. Their stock of both everyday and unusual electronic components are second to none. Over the counter help is exceptional. Access to the shop by rail Metro is easy, though by car it can be a little difficult to get parked at times due to the street always being busy with cars. Even when Maplin did exist, ESR beat them hands down on quality, service, knowledge of what they sell and their outstanding attitude towards helping their customers. Keep it up ESR..!!! A1++
When it's mid January and you're boiler goes kaput it spells disaster on a near biblical scale with family...unless ESR kindly jumps in to save the day noticing a Facebook cry for help. One quick phone call, all components in stock, posted overnight, paid over the phone and heating system repaired for a few quid instead of hundreds for a replacement board. Excellent service, incredibly friendly staff, knowledgeable and highly efficient. Highly recommended from me, cheers ESR!
Best, and only, true electronics shop in Tyne and wear. Best staff you could ask for willing to help as much as humanly possible. Not only that but the hold great stock and great prices. Truly earned their 5 stars !
Amazing place. They really do keep everything in stock, and their website is always current. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. I thought independent electronic shops like this had died out.Prices very reasonable too.
