I recently visited Esquires Coffee and left disappointed with the quality of their coffee. While their cake was good, the coffee, especially the flat white I ordered, tasted more like warm milk than a flavorful espresso-based beverage. The coffee lacked strength and robustness, which was particularly disheartening as a flat white is meant to be a balanced and flavorful drink. The texture was also off, lacking the creamy consistency characteristic of a well-prepared flat white. Although the ambiance and service were acceptable, the weak and watery coffee overshadowed the positive aspects. While I appreciate the tasty cakes, the coffee experience fell short. I hope that Esquires Coffee takes this feedback constructively and works on improving the strength and consistency of their coffee. It would greatly enhance the overall experience for coffee enthusiasts seeking a high-quality brew. While I can't recommend Esquires Coffee based on my coffee experience alone, I encourage others to try their cakes. However, if you're specifically looking for a well-executed coffee, you may want to explore other options in the area. I genuinely hope that Esquires Coffee takes this feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more satisfying coffee experience for their customers.
Came here simply for a cup of tea with oat milk. £3.35 for just a simple cup of tea, so in my mind quite expensive! The tea was incredibly strong you don’t need to let it brew at all and the amount of oat milk I was given was an absolute joke. One inch of milk in a tiny glass jar, which went no where considering the tea was so strong. Despite it being a lovely place to sit, I won’t be coming here again.
Went for lunch with my son, had a really nice lunch and the coffee was amazing! Also do a good variety of smoothies and milkshakes too! Lovely little coffee shopFood: 5/5

The coffee was okay, waited awhile to get our drinks too. There was fly in the milk jug Staff was friendly though.

Very friendly staff but £3.50 for a Cortado is expensive. You wouldn’t even pay that at GRIND in Shoreditch! So not sure how they can charge that in Southend…
