"Wildwood Devon is a fantastic family attraction set in beautiful Devon countryside featuring outdoor adventure play, indoor soft play and a world class maze. It has a fantastic selection of wildlife including wolves, lynx, wild boar, red fox, otters and red squirrels. At weekends and holidays you'll find hands-on activities in the authentic Saxon Village. It also has a great cafe in a Victorian coach house featuring a full range of meals, snack and amazing home made biscuits and cakes. The attraction is run by the Wildwood Trust, a registered charity dedicated to the conservation of British wildlife and wild spaces."

Absolutely fantastic place for the family to visit. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful trails and activities for all. Amazing food at the coach cafe and the wildlife is stunning. We were able to try viking carpentry, see brown bears and wolves and many other animals up close, try the mazes and activities and walk amongst the woods. It's perfect for a rainy day even though it's outside and there is LOTS to keep little ones happy for hours. The map takes you all around the estate and there is history, nature and exercise for all ages and abilities. I could have stayed all day. It does get busy, but because it's so big, there's room for all. I definitely recommend that you check it out and if you are looking for a quieter time afternoons are perfect. The highlight was the lovely gentleman in the saxon settlement who was so friendly and passionate about what he did. You could toast marshmallows and learn about the history of our country throughout the ages. There was a real appreciation for how hard it was for the saxons and they made everything from scratch there. The wolves and bears particularly were absolutely beautiful and you could see them so closely. The photos we have taken don't do it justice.
Had a lovely day we got to see the wolves and the bears which were amazing. The wood is beautifully laid out with natural play areas and a indoor soft play we spent almost 5 hours there and would definitely return our 2 year old granddaughter loved it The cafe has a small but very reasonably priced menu All the staff were very friendly and the bear talk was very imformative
A lovely wildlife park, great to take children. We saw wolves, red squirrels, eagle owl, wild boar, wild cat, buzzard and chough pronounced "chuff". There were also fantastic play areas for Children to climb, also a soft play area for smaller children. There is a cafe where you can buy hot drinks and hot food however it was quite basic and was very busy, the queue was literally out the door. The cafe could be improved on. I recommend bringing your own picnic and drinks as there are picnic tables dotted about.
Amazing staff, amazing place and amazing animals. It is quite small at the moment but I believe this won't be the case for long. Absolutely recommend the wolf feeding Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 min

Lovely quiet woodland wildlife park. Bears, wolves, eagle isles , red squirrels & arctic foxes in wooden enclosures. Not a fan of zoos but this place gives the animals more space & seems to be a sanctuary for rescued wildlife like the two bears. It’s very low key and gentle. In fact they need to put a few signposts on the approach - it’s in the grounds of Escott House, which is signed. Quite rustic and a little care worn, but we’ll worth a visit - on a sunny day you could picnic etc and spent a good 4-5 hours with kids. For adults 2 hours will be enough to wander round. Free parking, loos and basic cafe & small shop. A few thoughts : - good signage about species but lacking specific info about the actual animals, even on website. I think visitors wd want to know the bears are rescued - Gooch’s wild would & you can find news stories about them. Similarly where did they get arctic foxes? And wild cats? The website talks about Wildwood wanting to one day release wild cats & otters into UK countryside …. Yet We were told they only have three red squirrels - can’t they get into a breeding programme & then release them ?? So .. please give more info on boards about where animals came from & future homes for them ! £12 entry for adults - happy to pay as these places cost money to run. Loved the low key gentle calm woodland setting.
Brilliant day Just a shame some of the sign post have faded so makes it abit difficult to get round and the map doesn't show the right paths but after the rain yesterday sun came out saw all the animals so was great
We spent a bit of a wet autumn morning at Wildwood with our two year old and had a really nice time. The grounds are beautiful and we saw lots of the animals including the red squirrels in the squirrel woodland walk through, bears, lynx and wolves. Our toddler really enjoyed the pirate ship play area and we all had lunch in the cafe. We would love to visit in the spring/summer and will return when we are next in this part of the world.
Amazing visit and absolutely beautiful scenery. The wildlife was gorgeous, especially the bears and wolves which me and my family was lucky enough to see pretty close up. Delicious food from the cafe and a very nice gift shop. Definitely some of the friendliest staff by far, with a worker from the saxson village showing us around wood work expressing a real passion for his job, aswell as a very nice worker at the entrance who was extremely helpful. Excellent place and I definitely recommend!
Amazing day out for the whole family. I absolutely love being here as there is something for everyone. The staff are all super friendly.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
