"Formerly the Errington Arms, Errington Coffee house is now a wonderful place to enjoy homebaked cakes and pies in a warm comfortable environment, dog friendly and with open fires. The owners previously of stable coffee shop Bolam, have transformed this into a welcoming place to meet and relax.Less than 50ft from the Hadrians wall footpath it makes an ideal place to stop on your long walk."

GREAT PLACE TO STOP WHATEVER WAY YOU'RE TRAVELLING Wonderfully welcoming with a great selection of cakes, tarts, pies, scones and all kinds of desserts. I arrived mid afternoon and had a ham and peas pudding granary sandwich, served with crisps and a salad garnish. The ham was thick and flavoursome and the peas pudding the best I've ever had. To see everything listed simply on their menu, together with chalkboards of daily specials, you really wouldn't expect much. So, to be served such delicious food and a large slice of millionaires shortcake with the thickest layers of caramel and milk chocolate I've ever tasted, made me appreciate everything all the more. Make Errington Coffee House your destination for meeting friends, not just a stop on route to somewhere else.
What a lovely place. Great range of local food at competitive prices, super staff and fantastic surroundings. Easy to get to and plenty of parking. Visit soon!
We visited today for the first time and will definitely be returning. Greeted on arrival by friendly staff. We found a table and our order was taken. Our sandwiches and coffee arrived very quickly and was really nice. We took a slice of egg custard and some fruit scones home and they were delicious. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. A lovely place.
A pleasant place to stop and break a journey. We enjoyed the coffee and obligatory fruit scones. I didn't look at the menu but judging from nearby tables there are sandwiches available to order and a good selection of cakes. Recommended.Food: 5/5
Lovely place with lots of car parking. Everyone seems welcome here. Good food and efficient service Parking: Lots of free parking
In a nice position within a few minutes drive of Hadrian's Wall and some beautiful viewpoints. This is a nice place for lunch with a good selection of light meals and not so light cakes! Friendly, personal service and a worthy local business.Food: 4/5
Always busy these days, seems it may even pay now to book in advance! Simple homely decor inside with log burners to keep it cosy and there is plenty of sunny outside space when weather allows. Great cuppa, comes with further pot of hot water; sandwich was a generous serving with some salad stuff and crisps; scones, cake n tray bakes we had were very tasty. They also serve soup, various pies and quiches , baked potatoes and a selection of nice looking cakes. Overall the food is lovely and filling.....Good quality comfort food, nothing fancy, just what you want for a coffee break, light lunch or afternoon pick me up. Service from staff very efficient and attentive. Works much better as a coffee house than a pub!!!
Visited with a friend today - busy. Had drinks, main course and dessert. Asked to leave - my friend had paid - just finishing off coffee. Told " times up - need to kick you off". We were going anyway but to be told in that manner is unacceptable and downright rude. Come on - customer service - you're better than that. Having visited many times with friends and family - very disappointed
Disgusting cafe! When my food arrived there was a strong smell of wet dog which was coming from the plate. It was overpowering and completely put me off my food and I took it back to explain the issue. The very rude manager/boss came out and instead of apologising, told us we were wrong and tried to say that the wet dog smell was in fact coming from the onion I don't see how this is any better but I know what onion smells like. Both the plates and the forks smelled like wet dog so clearly they aren't doing their dishes properly. On top of this, a knife arrived with dried food on it, the milk arrived with a dead fly in it and the steak pie arrived Luke warm. All of this for the manager to come out and tell us we are in the wrong and not even offer an apology. Disgusting service and disgusting food. There are far better cafes to spend your money on in the area.
What a lovely place, we stopped off to have a break and caught just before it closed. They had a wonderful selection of cakes on offer. We had tea and chocolate cake, also apple pie and ice cream served outside in the sunshine. Staff were really friendly and made us feel welcomed, a perfect way to re-energise before carrying our long drive back South.
