Excellent service, informal dining when we booked at extremely last minute, food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely having money spent on it. Set in some nice grounds the views are excellent. Motorcycle and pet friendly. Makes a great base to tour from.
Perfect Sunday Roast in a Perfect SettingnnMy husband and I went today to try their Sunday roast—and it was absolutely delicious! We opted for the three-course meal, and each course was perfectly portioned—satisfying without leaving you uncomfortably full.nnThe roast was carved on the spot, piping hot and perfectly done. The sides were a dream: creamy mash, crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, caramelised onions, and a golden Yorkshire pudding. Every bite was full of flavour.nnAfter lunch, we enjoyed a peaceful walk through the garden. The weather was classic British spring—sunny but not too hot—making it the perfect way to round off a lovely meal.nnHighly recommend to anyone looking for fantastic food, friendly service, and a beautiful garden to wander afterward. A truly perfect Sunday.
The food is incredible, and the service is very good. The staff are lovely, so quick at serving and taking orders. The tables are clean, have good condition, and the seats are excellently comfy.nFive stars .
Enjoyed our stay, and the staff were very welcoming, with excellent service throughout. The hotel is an older building and full of charm, set in secluded scenic grounds away from the town. The menu and food were good quality with plenty of choice.
From the minute I booked my room at the Ernespie House Hotel, I knew I was in good hands. I received a welcome email from the owners something I've never experienced before. My room was clean and comfortable with a hospitality tray, dinner home made curry was absolutely delicious, the breakfasts were wonderful and the staff were extremely friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I needed a taxi from the hotel to Dumfries station and this was organised for me. I spent the hour or so before I departed working in the comfy entrance lounge and every single member of staff I met was uniformly friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this lovely hotel highly enough.
