Erewash Museum and Gardens was not something I expected because based on photos in Google maps they had a sun deck chair, but when I visited twice it was empty, but the good stuff is inside the museum, cafe and car park. Other than that there is nothing to do outsideVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A lovely little venue - although I went for a Steampunk event. Quite an eclectic mix of things on display inside & out. There's a small cafe on-site as well. It's very close to town centre & there is free on-street parking close by & inexpensive parking in car parks close by.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNo
An interesting way to while away an hour. Not that much to see but it's good local history that would be lost if it wasn't for places like this. I liked it.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
It has a nice cafe that is not expensive. The museum is brilliant and needs more support before the council closes it down for good. Great place to take the kids for free.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I visited the museum today for the first time. It is a lovely place to go and explore. Lots of interesting historical information, about places in Erewash. Particularly liked the crochet soldier. Great to take the kids to and love the fact that there is a neurodiverse quiet area for anyone who needs to use it. All staff and volunteers were very accommodating and made everyone welcome. The cafe is highly recommended. Shall return again.
Visited on the Model Railway Weekend and was an experience and a half! Not many displays but all amazing to see and experience, particularly the display connecting the bottom of Ilkeston Town to the Erewash Canal. Great collection of art from artists both close to home and further afield.
A small Museum to learn about local history and the Ilson folk who have lived here for years. They do have special events on during the year so contact the Museum or Erewash Borough Council to find out what's on. Coffee shop is now open when the museum is open. Well worth a visit
Visited the erewash Museum the other day with a friend to look at the Sherwood Foresters collection that was on display until December of this year to which I was expecting a little bit more with the regimental Museum being closed for refurbishment. The building as a whole really nice architecture Lee as an old stately home within erewash with the old kitchens sweet shop stables and I really enjoyed the interactive boards that told you the stories of individuals that worked within the house. They are a gift shop with various teams for children and a few military books in but if you haven't been to the museum before like I hadn't I would love to see further displays of the history of are awash with in that museum as it has plenty of potential.
Erewash museum does it again, absolutely fabulous value for money and some great events, this year with my grandson we did,...SAND ART. PIRATES AND MERMAIDS,and ANIMAL MAGIC. Would have done much more, but for holidays.Everyone so friendly and always has time to engage with the children, the various trails got brains working, and crafting tables always a winner, shame we couldn't have the beach, but there's always next year. Well done to you all and a big shout out to the guy on the gate,he's so lovely and made a fantastic pirate
Erewash Museum is excellent. Today they put on a model railway exhibition which was very good. The food in the cafe is good value for money and kids love it. Thank you Erewash Borough Council for supporting this fine venue.
