Great experience overall. The staff was efficient and I was able to get to my vehicle fairly quickly. Although the first vehicle I chose from the line of available cars had a flat tire, I was able to immediately select an alternative vehicle that fit my needs. On my return to drop my vehicle off, I was met promptly by a representative who checked my car quickly and sent me on my way. I was on the shuttle to the airport within approximately five minutes. Everything was run efficiently, my vehicle worked well, and I wasn’t held up from my scheduled departure. I was happy with my entire rental experience. The only reason for a four star versus a five Star rating was that it would have been nice to have more personnel available to assist on the lot with the checkout process. There was only one person for a fairly large number of people that came at the same time to get their vehicles. Since this is pretty much a self-serve process, it didn’t hinder me all that much so I was still happy leaving 4 stars. I would happily recommend this company for your rental needs.
I personally use this branch once or twice a month, the staff is very accommodating and professional. I’ve had a few times when they did not have a vehicle at my reservation time due to late returns, but they were able to find me a vehicle within hours. However I will stress if booking a rental online I would highly recommend calling the branch within a week of your reservation to make sure they have your reservation, they don’t have control of the reservations coming through the system I have found that out the hard way. Overall I have personally never had a terrible experience with this branch like I have had with other branches.
Photos of the car we received from the Winchester, VA Enterprise Valley Ave today. Needless to say this is not the caliber of vehicle I remember getting from Enterprise in years past. The photo of the wet wipe is the clorox wipe they left as a courtesy in the car....that is after my husband wiped down the steering wheel b/c it was sticky and the passenger door handle. There was also dog hair which I minded least since we have dogs and the filth was my main concern. I didn't even want to use the visor on our 5 hour trip b/c of how dirty it was see photo. The outside was also dirty and had several dings, which he photographed as well before leaving the lot and he did show the staff. I will be contacting the local branch to mainly let them know we did not create this mess, and the way some of it is caked into the crevices leads me to believe this is not just from the last renter. This is something I would expect from a budget company or a buy here/pay here used car lot...not the Enterprise of my business travel days.
Made an online reservation, took an Uber to get there only to be told sorry no cars call us back in the evening. Called back that evening still no cars, couldn't tell me if they would have one the following day so I canceled the reservation. Waited until Sunday, reserved another car, picked up the vehicle and drove it right home, parked in driveway. Went back out a few hours later to go to the store and notice some damage to the vehicle. I DID NOT get into an accident, nor did I DO THIS. I took a picture to show them when I returned it, date/time stamped. Returned the vehicle several days early because if failed to start on the day I needed to go to work so I missed work. As I was returning car, I mentioned to the lady the damage I discovered after I got it home. She was hell bent on accusing ME of causing this damage. Asked the two other employees "do you remember seeing any damage on this vehicle" and of course they both said no seriously doubt they would remember with all the cars they rent out. Asked to speak to manager, she called him on phone I assume she took the phone outside came back in and said my manager said you have to pay for this because YOU did this. You should have called us Sunday night when you discovered it. They are only open 9-12 on Sunday, couldn't call. She proceeded to rant about how I CAUSED this damage. As I told her, I've never had an accident a ticket not even a parking ticket. I'm old enough to fess up if I do something and I assure you I did NOT do this damage. She proceeded to tell me she would take my insurance deductible from my deposit and said she was going outside to take pictures of the serious damage I did...that a great idea, take pictures so you don't scam the next person. If I ever rent from them again, they will be hand drying that vehicle before I leave the lot. I have the date/time stamped picture and for your employee to stand there and raise their voice and tell me that they knew I DID IT is absurd. I've already notified my insurance company of this fraud!
I only had 2 cars options. Interior of the car was not very clean, it was obvious that it wasn’t cleaned and vacuumed, hairs were on the seat, big stain on the back seat. Make sure you check inside with an agent before leaving so that they know it was like that already. Car was kinda new and drove with no problem. Customer services were good. Please clean inside the car between rental, this happened before at the different location.
First, I arrived early before they opened in Winchester, and they were kind enough to let me in and give me a new car. This kept me from being late to work. The car drove well and had all if the bells and whistles I was used to having. Then, when I dropped the car off in Smithfield, it was after hours but the gentleman still came out to greet me and was super nice. Thank you!
The initial setup with the vehicle rental was smooth and without issues. The inside of the vehicle was filthy upon me receiving it. And smelly. Finally, my insurance rental car allotment passed its maximum benefit and Enterprise did not notify me until AFTER I began racking up charges I personally had to pay. That’s pretty annoying! Do better, Enterprise.
If it wasn’t for how nice the employees were they would be getting a one star but they were nice so that’s the only saving grace. The weekend before Fourth of July my wife and I had a reservation for 7 days. We had the reservation for 5 weeks, the day of the reservation we were told when we went to go pick up a vehicle that Saturday at 2:30 that they had no vehicles available because no one had returned them.I understand relying on people to bring back a vehicle on time is completely on honor system so to speak, but when we had a reservation for 5weeks how is there not a vehicle there for us?
I usually go to the one in Martinsburg, but decided to go to this one bc it's closer to the place I needed to b. I got there early n was one of the 1st to arrive. Everything seemed good to go, n i was going to b put in an SUV. I need a bigger vehicle bc of the things i haul for work. When I went to pick up my rental, I was told that I needed additional information b4 they could put me in a car. I am renting thru my company n it all should be taken care of. I waited for over an hour to be put in a vehicle n in the mean time, the manager gave the last SUV that i was going to be put in, away. I finally got everything straight w the account the girl was new n didn't know what she was doing n now there are only trucks left. I am now super late for my appts, so I have to take whatever I can. I get in the truck n b4 I leave the parking lot, I notice a quarter size chip in the windshield, smack in the center. I did not have time to get a different vehicle, so I sucked it up n went on about my business. I find out later that I need to extend the car rental for work, but I need to switch the car out bc the chip is getting to me. I'm driving on major highways n cities. I called to ask for a switch n I'm told that it's ok to drive a vehicle like that. I understand that, but I don't want to. I apparently called the general enterprise, so the lady gave me the local number. I called n explained to them what's going on n asking if there's another SUV I can get. There sure is, but it's got body damage, but they reassure me that it's ok to drive. I mean, what is the problem here? I'm renting a car for weeks at a time, I should get a car wout any problems or given a big deal bc I would like something that is legit. I don't have this problem in Martinsburg.. I'm gonna try them 1 more time, but if it's anything like this visit... I'll be going elsewhere.
Josh had me in and out in less than 5 min, terrific customer service, very polite and friendly. He gave me a rental that he had personally just cleaned and it was spotless. If you need a rental, and he is the one helping you, you're in good hands. Thanks again Josh
