Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful customer service from Aberdeen airport Enterprise car rental! ! I felt discriminated against for my clothing and profession!! I completed the booking process online as I always do and paid for the hire up front in full, when I arrived to collect the vehicle, I explained at reception that I did not have a hard copy of my driving license, but as per Enterprise policy I had my passport,, NI number etc and my licence status could be verified on the GOV.uk website as I common practice for all car rental company’s! I also explained that I was a previous customer and my licence would be on there system already. Instead of trying to help in anyway what so ever! The employees serving me immediately began to cancel hire, assured me that I was wrong and ‘he’s worked their 3 years and knows the policy’ which he clearly doesn’t!! I was forced to make last minute alternate travel arrangements, which were both massively expensive and very inconvenient! After speaking to enterprise complaints department they confirmed that a simple check of the company policy by the employees would of avoided this issue totally! If I was wearing a shirt and tie instead of works clothes and a work bag this incident would never have happened!
Worst experience ever. We will never rent with enterprise again. Here is what happened to us: - getting car at Aberdeen, headlights very dark, indication light switch jammed for one side, first time tire pressure light went on - Drove to next gas station and checked the tires and the pressure - everything ok - tire pressure light went on again, checked again - everything ok - 28.12., 16:30 PM tire broke, immediately called Enterprise and the provider afterwards, they told us to have to wait about 2 hours, car had no warning vests and no warning triangle even though not obligatory in the UK it would have been helpful because it was dark outside and the car was a danger to the traffic - went outside the car and put the warning lights on - Because it was the left front tire we didn‘t want to risk further damage and didn‘t want to drive into the forest at the side of the road - We also didn‘t deem it safe to stay inside of the car so we went to the next gas station because it was raining also they told us it would take 2 hours - Confirmed my phone number with the person of the provider, but they gave the recovery unit the wrong phone number - Called again at 6:30 PM to ask where they are, was told they already were at the car but we weren‘t there and they couldn‘t reach me so they left again - they had the wrong phone number missing one digit, gave my correct phone number AGAIN and double checked - they said it would take another two hours - we waited until 8:20 PM until I called again; they said there are further delays and again had the wrong phone number !! - I was told to be called back at every call which was about 5-7 and was never once called back - We ended up waiting at the bus stop in the rain for nearly 7 hours, until someone came - Also was told that I don‘t have to call the police even though the vehicle was still on the road - as we weren‘t able to get to our hotel near Isle of Skye we had to take a hotel in Stirling near Kwik Fit and pay for that, additional taxi to the hotel and back to Kwik Fit - We nearly were not able to get a hotel that late because they were fully booked that late in the evening/night called around 10 hotels until someone had a room for us - Didnt book a hotel near Stirling before because we thought maybe it would be fixed that day and didnt want to leave the car in the middle of the road and leave, also we didnt know for how long the warning lights would be working because it was already some hours - I also didn‘t get a call in the morning and we were not booked at Kwik Fit for an appointment - Had to wait for the tire to be changed another 2 hours - person at Kwik Fit told us he checked all the tires and every tire was fine - Tire pressure system went on again in the beginning which is normal and we resetted it we did it because it was switched to german and the person at Kwik Fit told us we should do that - After another 10-15 minutes the tire pressure light went on again and we resetted it again - Because it went on again we drove to another Kwik Fit in Perth and let them check the tires again, which did not have an evenly pressure and some were set too high but none of the tires was at a „wrong“ pressure - After around 15min the tire pressure light went on again - Tire pressure light was alright at drive to Isle of Skye - Went on again at drive from Isle of Skye to Aberdeen and we checked the tires again We lost nearly 2 days and a lot of money. Also now they want me to pay for both recovery units even though it was not my fault that they were not able to get my correct phone number. And also we are asking ourselves if the tire of the car was already damaged when we got the car. You wouldn‘t have been able to tell because there clearly was something wrong with the tire pressure light. Worst service we ever had. Bad condition of the car. Also when we picked up the car they talked us into a gas refill at the end for 40£ because they told us that the gas stations will be closed on that day, which was an outright lie. Nearly every gas station was open.
Everyone was nice enough but the process was very slow at pick up and I didn't get the size of car I ordered. Then there was the high pressure insurance sales that everyone hates, a chip in the paint would cost you £4,000?! I was asked to give perfect review. I decided against.
Tell me why it is that at Edinburgh Airport the Enterprise team, who are lovely, will wait on shift till midnight so that passengers arriving on the last flights have time to pick up their cars. And yet at Aberdeen and Glasgow the branch shuts well before the last flights arrive, so if you're not there in time, tough. Do you think that's acceptable? Because I don't. Updated in response to the recent reply; thanks for replying. If you're asking what you can do to help, I'd reiterate my initial query and ask that ALL Enterprise Airport branches remain open until the last flights have landed, so travellers have time to collect their vehicles and finish their journey. It makes sense to me that if passengers have bookings, they should not have to get a hotel and wait till the following morning to finish their journey just because the branch staff decided "too bad" and went home.
Everything about renting here felt sleazy. As a very frequent traveller I have never, anywhere in the world, UK or abroad, ever been asking for details of my employer when picking up a car, but I was here. I'm self employed. Strange. Returning the car it felt like the woman was very deliberately looking for faults and eventually found a tiny smaller than a 5p coin nick on one of the tyres. For that I have lost at least my £200 deposit. They said it could be more and they have my credit card so they can feel free to charge what they want in theory. Most of what she was pointing out was just dirt. Of course I totally accept if there is major damage to a car you have to pay, but this was just nit-picking and no more than wear and tear which for all I know, because it was so small, could have been there when I picked it up. When I picked the car up they said they only look for scratches/damages bigger than 10mm - she never said at pick up that that excludes tyres, which apparently is the case. I was only told this when I dropped it off. That aside it was just the "computer says no" attitude, the basic lack of customer service and the overriding "client is wrong" attitude. Will absolutely avoid Enterprise from now on. UPDATE: I emailed the address in the response from Enterprise below. After about 9 days I got a stock-reply email that obviously didn't come from a human that said absolutely nothing other than they would take note of the complaint - just further backing up how useless Enterprise are.
Decent enough facility, with multiple hire firms under one roof. However, the vehicle parking can be a long away from the office building dependent on which hire company you use. And the vehicular exit is controlled by a gate needing a code from the desk, making it slightly more challenging to get picked up by say a taxi after off hiring a car here.
I had a great experience with Enterprise at Aberdeen Airport. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my rental process. They made it quick and easy to pick up the car, allowing me to get on my way. Returning the car was just as smooth as picking it up. The process was quick and hassle-free, which was a big plus for me. Overall, I can't find any faults with my experience – everything went great. The staff were lovely their excellent customer service means that I would not hesitate to use Enterprise again when I'm in town.
Hired a car for 4 days. From a late night pick up to dropping the car back the service was fantastic.
I was sold a Volvo XC90 or similar but given a Mazda CX-5. I was given no choice, either take the Mazda or take nothing. Edit, I've emailed as the owner requested but have not had a response from Enterprise. Edit, still no response.
The attendant was lovely and very friendly. None of the tech was working and so we had to bounce between the hut, the main building and the car park a few times which slowed it down a lot taking near 25 mins to get our car. But service was fantastic as it wasnt her fault and the car was spot on.
