This was better than I expected, the whole grounds and buildings are dog friendly. The historical buildings are well presented inside with history from 1066 and there are quite a few rooms and corridors to get lost in. The grounds around the battle site are generally smooth and easy to walk on or use a mobility scooter. We were there longer than anticipated at about 4 hours. There is a cafe serving all the usual cakes, drinks and ice creams. Good day out for everyone including kids. The audio guides were free and very helpful whilst walking around the site.
Very educational place. Simple place but made into interesting place by all the story boards and wooden statues. Visited mid June 2024.nIt is nice to walk the circle around the battle field and read what actually happened.nThe Abbey is amazing, you can still visit some of the rooms and admire the architecture.nEnjoyed the whole experience.
A wonderful historic day out. You have the chance to walk round the grounds of the 1066 battle of Hastings. The walk takes between 40 minutes to an hour. During the holidays there are special events and there were traditional games to play as well as actors teaching children to be warriors. A worthwhile visit!
Absolutely Excellent day, plenty to see nWell laid out, information boards, audio available, walk around the battlefield, visit the place where King Harold fell, Pity the stone is not very clear and readable story telling andnExhibitions. Well done English Heritage.nShop, cafe, toilets and car park.nEnjoy a good day out.
An excellent day out. Audio guide is a must to get the most out of it. Battlefield wlak is nice and not difficult and the Abbey is incredible. Magnificent cream tea to top it off.
