It is wonderful in the cafe. As soon as we sat down we looked at the menu and ordered instantly. I had a ginger tea and panini with side of salad and it was delicious. It’s a cosy and warm atmosphere. It’s lovely and quiet. I’d definitely recommend to everyone. My stepdad had a large Yorkshire pud with sausages, tea and gravy and my mum had soup and tea. The man was very polite and cooked our food within 10 minutes.
Decent place for a quick bite, pie and peas for a fiver and good Yorkshire tea with scone. Plenty of seating and toilets round the back. Pets welcome. Friendly staff.
Nice food, shame about the grubby premises. We had soup and a sandwich which were delicious, as was the latte. The problem was the state of the cafe: filthy floor with old sweepings left in a pile in one corner, mop and bucket, broom, bag of rubbish etc etc left in plain sight. The sugar bowl was sticky and dirty and I thought due to Covid regulations condiments should be served in disposable containers to prevent contamination. The staff didn't even know whether test and trace details were required when a customer asked for a takeaway coffee! The two male staff didn't even wash their hands after smoking outside. Staff seemed friendly but shambolic and the placewas dirty.
Horrendous cafe. We ordered two Soups and sandwiches and tea for two. Had to wait 10 minutes for our grubby table to be cleaned and they only did this as we had to ask. Our tea arrived after ten mins. After finishing our tea, the soups and sandwiches hadn't arrived. Kids and i were starving, ended up cancelling the order and getting a refund. Disgusting, place. Better off going to chip shop cafe or one of the public houses further up the hill.
Without doubt the worst cafe I have ever been to in my entire life! I am 68 and I had 4 family guests for soup and a roll.Although i asked for baked potato but after half and hour was told no potatoes. The girl taking order had to write longhand, then, eventually uttered "£55 pounds please", just like at school by adding each number then carrying 2. No calculator in sight. Then an hour's wait began. The food came sporadically and was pathetic. I got cold soup for pudding. Even writing this is painful. Eventually we gave up and left, but when I asked for money back was told "what do you expect, I'm doing this on my own"! I got some money back by negotiation. Words fail me. The Fawlty Towers of Haworth.
Had a meal in Emmas cafe. We both had filled giant Yorkshire puds, I had sausages with fried onions & gravy, my husband had the beef with fried onions & gravy. It was nice, but could have done with a few more onions, as we could hardly find them.
Quality of food was poor. Menu said homemade soup but definitely wasn’t. No sign of the toasted ciabatta bread and no apology for the dry sliced white bread that was served. The coffee was good.
Called for lunch today. My friend had homemade leek and potatoe soup he said this was the best soup he had ever tasted. I had jacket potatoe with chilli this also was delicious and a pot of good old yorkshire tea the staff are so friendly will definitely call again.
Very slow service even though they were quiet. The staff were unhelpful and the food was adequate, although the yorkshire puddings were swiming in gravy and the side salad with the tuna melt was dripping in oil and cheese. One to avoid.
Slow service in tired looking premises. 1 young women doing all the work, constantly interrupted by a big guy who talks non stop & then in walks a guy, into the kitchen area & makes himself a tea & sandwiches! 2 people ordered chilli & after 10 mins were told they had run out! Chaotic! Avoid.
