Located in one of Dublin's most beautiful areas. Very accessible, with several bus routes. The service at the Embassy is EXCELLENT. I would like to congratulate Mr. Francesco on his service, without a doubt one of the most polite and helpful Italians.
In spite of having previously held a 3-year residence permit from Italy, numerous entry and exit stamps from Italy in my passport, currently possessing a 6-month visa for the UK, and three expired long term Schengen visas, I was only granted a single-entry visa for 10 days by the consulate. It is definitely not my recommendation. After seeing the visa, I decided to cancel my trip just to avoid spending money in Italy. They wont get a penny from me anymore.
Trying to get an appointment to renew my passport for 2 months there os no availability even to book to get an new ID. It's ridiculous! I'm trying every day to have an appointment and once I rang there I've been told I would have to take the risk to lose my holidays booked also been told they cannot give any appointment. I never expected to have been given any appointment I understand the demand is high but not having any appointment available is ridiculous. I'm trying to get it sorted every single day .
I went to the embassy for my daughter's first passport. Francesco was extremely professional and efficient: in no time the passport was ready. Excellent service: thank you Francesco!
Worst embassy ever did an Aire application in this embassy it has been 6 months and I Didn’t even get an answer. Some of my friends has been also waited 1 year to get his Aire and passport issued.
EDIT: Got a call from Mr Francesco today and we had a good conversation. We understood that my AIRE was cancelled due to the return of the voting package, what means to them that the citizen cannot be found, therefore the cancellation of the AIRE. What we do not understand is why my AIRE was cancelled if an address change request was placed by me during that time. A formal complaint was filed by me and I am happy that I received a callback from them to better understand the situation and to clarify the why's. I am raising this review from 1 star to 3 stars: I am happy that the Embassy called me and sorted things out, but still unhappy with all the unnecessary hassle that I have been through with the AIRE cancellation.
I am trying to book an appointment to emit my passport for about 2 months. They never have slots. Why don't they hire more people?
Weeks trying online to get an appointment. When you get one, the earliest available date is in eight months, for basic, essential services like emissions of ID cards. The employees show no interest or empathy. As a service to Italian citizens abroad, it's worse than useless.
The embassy does provide with really good service if you've got all your documents in place. Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff there as well.
