A magnificent cathedral that, like so many others, dominates the landscape. Ely Cathedral was originally founded as a monastery by Etheldreda, daughter of a Saxon king. Be sure to see the octagonal lantern tower, a real wonder of medieval architecture.

Beautiful cathedral to visit - manageable size, would recommend combining with the stained glass museum.

Absolutely stunning place. One of the most lovely cathedral I saw in UK. The town is lovely so our family spend great day.

Great expression of architecture in one of the most important cathedrals in England, with an interesting rich history. Many events take place in and around it throughout the year, including their famous flower show in summer and magical carols festival at Christmas.

Despite high entrance charge, nostalgic return after losing wife meant a great deal and candles lit for her and three close friends, all of whom died in last twelve months.

Ely and the cathedral are really worth a visit. The stained window and book of rememberance to bomber command is in itself worthy of a visit. Park at Barton Road carpark free for 2 hours. The town is very pretty and the visitors centre really helpful.

Ely Cathedral is absolutely beautiful. The Stained Glass Museum is a must see. The building is stunning and the staff were very helpful

A truly beautiful and historic cathedral situated in a very picturesque city. Well worth a visit. Reasonably priced as well. Make sure you have a mask.
