Absolutely will never report anything to the Police ever again. Went in today to report identity theft, on me. The woman who we spoke to at the front desk, was more interested in explaining to us how it was our fault and that why basically are you here? Tell us the story so much sarcasm, not professional at all, extremely condescending and totally didn’t feel respected at all. Handed us some print outs basically go follow up and report it online. This was after driving 20 mins, because our local police station was closed. She wasn’t happy it seemed to be pulled from her office. Thanks police!! If I ever see anything suspicious I definitely won’t be reporting it. Well Do e on putting people off coming to you.
Firstly lets start from waiting time on the line. Waited more that it was worth it, becasue the lady ober the phone didn’t helped me at all. Secound of all the Google says, that office is opened till 22:00, but at 21:20 the dors was closed, and we saw few police officers walking on the other side. They didn’t let us in, or at least come to us and say “come back tomorrow” or anything like that. I personally think that, it’s dangerous to keep people waiting outside and not giving them answer. Imagine situation, that something happened, you don’t have a phone with you, so first idea which showed in your head is “I’m going to the police”. It’s 21:00 and the doors are closed ? How should we feel. I know that police job is mostly physical, but after all, in some point this is a CUSTOMER SERVICE JOB, and as a customer service you should really work on it.
took a 30 min bus ride to be told that my packages getting stolen would be more easily resolved by asking amazon for refunds.
Well all the negative reviews here I can't agree with them. I have stayed here many times and the all day breakfast isn't the best but its free so I won't complain also the hot chocolate is . Everytime I leave they never charge me for staying and always save me taxi fair because by the time I get out the buses are running. A**** if you ask me
Staff do not seem to know the law They made a mistake by arresting me and then releasing me with NTA. Unfortunately i did not get to taste the cuisine as it was served at the same time my complaint resolutionist arrived, but i would mark them down on the speed of service , which was very slow, 16 hours !!!. They did provide reading material Upon request, but this was limted to rubbish probably left in lost property. Management seemed fair, and i was given a complimentary sweatshirt, in a nice light grey hue. Overall, i wasn't very happy with my stay and wouldn't reccomend it, However this is a relatively new establishment and i'm sure they will improve over time.
Absolutely disgusting the way the custody lady spoke to me. I rang to ask how long it would take for my partner to get here because ive never been arrested and I want to know so I can hide because he threatened me with a hammer for her to turn around and get cocky its not a taxi service !!!!!!! I never asked u that I was asking how he was getting home.... make ur victims safe and offer a decent call bk to say this is what hes doing next pressing charges or NOT....
I would rate the breakfast a 3/10 all day breakfast was sub par at best, accommodation is light and airy with a sense of impending doom, staff are ignorant and belligerent wouldn't recommend to a friend but for a one night stay wasn't too bad tbh.
I cannot see why people even bother reporting crimes. The police put more effort into issuing fines to drivers ect than catching toe rags.
I have been to this station a handful of times and noticed that several of the regular desk staff have an appalling attitude problem and no people skills whatsoever; as an example on my most recent visit I attempted to file a harassment complaint against someone, I gave my personal details and briefly explained that someone had sent me an upsetting message and was trying to intimidate me, but beyond that I told the officer I was uncomfortable giving further details at the desk as it concerned information of a private nature, at which point she just shrugged this off and said "oh nobody's listening". We stayed in this stalemate for around 10 minutes during which time I was becoming noticeably upset, but still she absolutely refused to allow me to talk to anyone in private and kept telling me there were no free rooms or officers to help me despite other members of the public being taken in and out of the back corridor for private interviews during the time I was there and at least four uniformed officers sat in the adjacent café drinking coffee and socialising, and was insistent I give her further details at the desk before proceeding there were about ten other members of the public in the waiting area, and anyone who has been there will know that it's an open plan tiled room that makes it virtually impossible to say anything without being overheard – something which they should probably look at changing given the nature of what people could be wanting to discuss at the desk... As this went on and I became more upset I began to say the odd swear-word to nobody in particular as people often do when emotional, the officer's response to this was to repeatedly tell me to stop swearing in that patronising tone one might use with a naughty child. I was so emotional by this point I'm not ashamed to admit that I began to cry in frustration and the officer just stood there po-faced still unwilling to budge on her demand that I give her further details at the desk, the final insult was her saying "are you going to give me the details I need? Because if not there's other people waiting..." I remind you again that she's saying to this someone literally crying. I ended up leaving without being able to file the complaint. I have also spoken to a member of desk staff here concerning a time I was hung up on by a 101 operator, before I could get more than a couple of words out she cut me off abruptly saying "well if you were abusive to them then they would"; so within 10 seconds of interacting with me she's already taken the stance of assuming that I was in the wrong and had been verbally abusive to the call operator! I responded, “or, it could have been because that person was insensitive and unprofessional?”, she just looked at me with an expression of Sheldon Cooper-like haughty derision very mature and professional – because how very dare I suggest someone who works for the police could be less than perfect, eh? Even basic retail customer service training teaches you not to take an accusatory tone with members of the public even when they actually are in the wrong as it just offends people and creates tension, and we all know what assumptions do... If there's one job where you'd think empathy and people skills would be essential it's being a police officer, at the very least they should have the sense to be able to evaluate a situation and recognise the difference between someone who is acting hostile and someone who is emotional because they've been made to feel scared and intimated. I understand that these people must take a lot of abuse in their work, but that's no excuse for acting like a condescending robot with everybody who approaches the desk. When I moved up north I was told you Yorkshire folks were friendly, obviously that's because you hide away all the stuck-up and nasty ones by making them become police officers.
I was a victim of road rage, unprovoked and resulted in assault and the interior of my car covered in coca cola. 999 refused to send assistance at the time, I was told to let them go and go home. An officer called later, laughed when I explained what happened but agreed it was assault and told me the van was registered in Leeds 13. I visited this station to make a statement and a week later I was left a voicemail telling me that because the van is registered in Solihull they wouldn't persue it. The officer did no know I had already been told the van was registered in leeds so I complained that they are lying to create an excuse for doing nothing. The official response is that an officer entered the wrong registration plate in the system so it came back as a different location. It also came back as a Ford mondeo, different colour also. Do I go with my initial assumption that it was a badly crafted excuse or do I believe the police are incompetent. The officer who rang me on the evening claims he does not remember and the other officer is on maternity leave, apparently that means she is no longer responsible for her incompetence/dishonesty. My faith in the police has fallen through the floor and in future I will deal with the situation myself, whatever the outcome. Clearly no point involving police. At no point have I been offered an apology, I take that to mean that this is commonplace. If I screwed my job up so badly I would be sacked or sent for re-training.
