Absolutely gorgeous golf experience, don't think because of the yardage that this is here for the taking. Elie is one of the oldest courses in the country, a great amount of blind holes where your first shot requires accuracy with yardage and is a true test to the players course management. The greens were an absolute delight, lightening fast as links normally are in the East Newk of Fife. Overall a beautifully designed course that is challenging and I highly recommend that you visit this hidden gem of a course.
Top links course. Very interesting well kept course with a good pace of greens. Some ver scenic and quirky holes on offer. Staff were pleasant and helpful also.
Staff are polite but also deny non-players their facilities; A friend couldn’t join for food or use the loo… So ate at the public diner and that burger tasted like it was two days old. Only three holes really stood out as unique, those being along the shoreline, the rest are par 4 clones way too close together. Lots of blind tee shots as well which isn’t that fulfilling. Condition was pretty good, but it’s not as special as members or those working there think it is. I won’t play here again.
Without a doubt one of my favourite courses ever! We played in the most horrendous of conditions with wind at storm level. We had the hole course to ourselves and I shot a ridiculous score but I loved every second. Hitting 7 irons 75 yards at par 3s was just hilarious and the views are 2nd to none. I will make a special journey just to come and play this course again in better conditions as it deserves it. condition 10 out of 10. Location and views 20 out of 10 this is an absolute must for anyone who likes there golf and links courses but also loves the scenery of a stunning location. One thing that was really Coll is there is a periscope in the starters office which the very chatty pro let us look through. Really warm greeting from the staff and some of the members who all thought we were mad for going out.
Had an excellent round of golf, and a great lunch. I highly recommend this course if you are in the area. It was a great experience.
A great links course with some challenging holes. The wind can be both with and against you! A must visit course on your visit to the home of golf.
My experience was only OK here. The course is in a beautiful setting for sure. I can't quite put my finger on it but the atmosphere felt a little stuffy for my liking. If your looking to choose between here or crail, I would go with crail in a heartbeat. My 2 cents.
Fabulous golf course with stunning views. Very well maintained. Perhaps a little stuck in the past - for example you have to where knee length hoes with your shorts which sort of negates the point of shorts!
Magnificent golf course in stunning setting. Well cared for course with plenty bunkers to catch your errant shots. Only 2 par 3s and no par 5s, but don't let that fool you.
Excellent driving range , convenient token based system
