The lineup started at 845am. Thankfully, we were there early enough to not wait in line. They have a 90 min dining policy. As we had a larger party, our host took our order last. It took roughly 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 10 for our food everything was ordered at the same time Salmon Benedict : was amazing. Comes with salad and home fries extremely filling can feed 2 people comfortably. They have probably the best salad. It was properly seasoned and not overly soggy. Match Latte: Not sweet, but they provide sugar, which isn't necessary, very good quality leaves. Dietary restrictions: They had other "milk" options. Oat, soy, dairy free.
I’ve been here couple of times. I love their coffees because it’s on the stronger side. I also liked their iced Nutella latte & hot pumpkin spice latte. I always get their salmon Benedict. Only thing is because their cafe is on the smaller side and they don’t allow reservations, the wait can be a quite long sometimes. We had to wait an hour on the weekend to be seated for 2 people. Other than that a solid brunch spot. Their staff is also very kind and energetic.
Brunch here is amazing!! The salmon eggs benny was so good. I also liked the matcha latte. It can get busy so there is a bit of a wait but it's definitely worth the wait!
This is a nice little brunch spot that gets very busy because of limited seating. I waited about 30 mins on a Sunday afternoon. I had the breakfast sandwich and the ricotta pancakes. Pancakes were very light and fluffy with a good taste similar to Japanese cheesecake. Overall it’s an average spot, might come back to try some of the other dishes, good vybes though.
Great coffee and brunch here. The ricotta pancakes were light and flavourful. I didn’t think I was a pancake person, but those could change my mind. Also tried the cheddar omelette with home fries and enjoyed them as well. 20 min wait for a table, but it was well worth it! Restaurant is simple and clean. Service was friendly. Food was served quickly and was delicious. Highly recommend for a casual brunch in the suburbs.
Really really good coffee and food but even better service. The fact that it was crowded on a Tuesday afternoon is an indication to their popularity. I had a chicken BLT served with house fries and salad along with an iced latte and a cortado. The coffees were exceptional. The food was not just amazing portions wise but the flavours were mind blowing. Even the humble house fries were perfectly seasoned. But best of all for me was the service. I had asked for the 2 coffees to be served an hour apart. Despite the busy footfall my server made sure my wishes were followed. Definitely going back if I’m in the area again
This has to be one of the better, if not best brunch spots I have been to in a very long time. I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to eat here lol. The wait is insane but it’s worth it. The place is clean and spacious. The staff are on point, helpful, and always on the move assisting customers. The Bulgogi Egg Benedict was a first for me and it left an impressive impression. The egg was poached perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was smooth and velvety didn’t taste too yolks and was light. The ricotta pancakes were so fluffy and airy. They had a nice creamy taste from the ricotta. The star of the show were the home fries. These fries weren’t complicated or over the top. They were cooked just right. Perfect crisp, tender inside, seasoned well and so simple yet that’s what made them special. The best home fries I have ever had. The Matcha Latte was refreshing. This place was a solid brunch spot, well worth the wait. Prices are very fair.
Elephant grind coffee is a stable place for brunch food, I would say this is one of my favourite that is in the Markham/Richmond Hill area. However, we always do except a wait time especially during the weekends. I would say their food consistency varies because on some days their chicken and waffle is amazing and on others it’s very dry and hard. The fish in the fish and chips has no seasoning, but other classic brunch items were good. Service is usually good, when it gets busy I do notice items may be missed or staff may not be as attentive. They have a wide variety of choices in terms of food & drinks! Overall, I’ve been back multiple times and I would recommend to check this place out if you’ve never been, just expect a wait if you plan to go during busy hours/days.
BIG shout out to Kyle! Our server Kyle has such a good energy and makes everyone happy around him. Elephant Grind is so lucky to have him. I will definitely visit again and again as long as he is working there! The food was really good and fresh as well. But Kyle is the real gem. I highly recommend this restaurant.Food: 5/5
Busy cafe restaurant that can accommodate about 30 to 40 people. Expect to wait for a table on weekends. Food tastes good, for reasonable portion sizes and prices. I recommend the fried chicken and waffle. Staff are friendly and apologetic about the wait time.
