Lovely location on the River. Great choice of food on the menu. Very friendly staff. Dog and child friendly. Upper terrace has wheelchair access. Big breakfast, fried eggs were overcooked but apart from that very good. Creamy mushrooms were delicious, great coffee. Good value food and drink.
Great cafe. Excellent brunch, cakes etc. Good value. Nice views of river. Efficient friendly staff. Lots of space and covered outdoor seating
Came here as it's so well rated but sorely disappointed. Ordered a flat white but it was more like a latte. Ordered 2 toasties, 1 was wrong so had to send back. When it came back it was soggy, poorly presented and not nice at all. Other one sausage and bacon had 1 rasher of bacon and 1 1/2 sausages in - not what you expect for £8.45!! Staff picking noses/spots then touching food and drinks. Waitress asked if the food was ok, we said not really and showed her why and got a response of "oh. Sorry about that" and she walked off. Didn't bother trying to speak to anyone else as it was just being run by kids. Left the food and the establishment. ** Edited to add that we received an excellent response from management and are happy to try them out again **
I work at a rest home and took some residents to Eight on the River. It's a lovely place with a great view of the Thames. The residents had a great time and loved their tea or coffee. The service is brilliant. They were so lovely and made the residents day. Thank you all.
Tried to come here for lunch twice this week off a friend's recommendation - both times not serving food first time was just before 3pm which is when the kitchen closes which was fair enough, so we came back the 2nd time at 2.30pm but they stopped serving the person in front of us because of too many orders. Very frustrating. Especially as we walked all the way here specifically and it's not that close to alternatives. Update the sign outside that says "come in we're open til 4pm" - no you're not!
Great riverside location, good for coffee, smoothies, breakfast and lunch. Above Molesey Boat Club, this "hidden gem" is well worth stopping at if you're on a riverside walk. Highly recommended.
Great spot, club house of a rowing club. Veranda, roof terrace overlooking the Thames. Coffee, beer, great selection of cakes. Free parking. On the Thames Path not far from Hampton Court. Shames it's not open in the evenings. Has lift access, then level. Recommended
Went to Eight on the River for breakfast with my wife, as it was such a beautiful sunny morning. I had an espresso & crushed avocado with poached eggs on toast. The food was lovely, as were the staff who were very pleasant & helpful.
I’ve been going to this cafe for several years and it’s in a beautiful location. However I was so disappointed today with the great reduction to the menu. Several favourites have been removed- mushrooms on toast, Welsh rarebit was a special, all day breakfast items - the list goes on! You don’t come here for a sausage roll! I won’t hurry back and that’s a shame. Many customers were saying the same and in these times people are spending carefully and may choose to go elsewhere.
The perfect place for a hot coffee and gorgeously thick bacon sandwich after a snowy dog walk! They allow dogs on leads, and offered a towel for giving my big goldie a rub-down. The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, the staff were genuine and warm I went for some coconut cake - the server made sure I got any crumbs that fell off the thick slice. The tables were nicely spaced out, so it didn't feel cramped despite being so bustling, and service was quick. There was an elevator for disabled access, and I look forward to returning for afternoon tea in the summer, when the outside terrace opens for a view of the river. 5 stars!
