Incredible. We had a group of 8 and we’re lucky enough to have two tables available that they were willing to push together. We ordered drinks, starters, meals, and dessert and considering what we got the prices were fair. The food was amazing and the wait staff was so friendly and attentive. While we got lucky by walking in, I’d recommend booking a reservation to be safe! The scallops were awesome!!!
The restaurant itself was lovely and the view is nice, the staff was great and showed up pretty regularly. The taster starter plate was tasty, but the main courses were a bit inconsistent. Two of the same plates we got had inconsistent quantities of the items, and didn’t taste the same. The halibut in particular was very dry and seemed overcooked, but the side dishes it came with it were very good. However, we were really looking forward to having some amazing fish in Oban, so that’s what brought this review down a bit.
I came on my first dinner in Oban as my friend from Oban highly recommended it. I came between 5-6:45 so was able to order the three courses dinner which is 19.5 pounds. A very good value. The starter salmon mousse was so good! I had hake for main, which was so fresh and firm. The only down might be the sticky toffy pudding was a bit sweet for me. Otherwise, it is 100! The staffs were very friendly and they serve the food SUPER quick. I was very surprised by the speed and the taste. I will definitely come back again. And yes, please make bookings because it filled up quickly by 6:30, even on a Monday evening in March!
We had the grand platter and honestly I can say I don’t think I’ve ever had fresher, tastier seafood in my life. It tasted like it had jumped out of the sea straight onto the plate. The sauces were lovely, particularly the sauce used with the mussels which literally melt in your mouth. Very generous amount too and a great location on the water with beautiful views. A huge 5 stars from us and the before and after photo tells the true picture!
What a great restaurant. Very reasonable prices for massive portions of amazing seafood. We had mussels, Thai Fishcakes and calamari and the wee man had fish and chips. Everything was stunning. Brilliant and friendly service too. Top notch.Food: 5/5
Make a reservation, it gets busy. Good meal: starters, main, dessert, and drinks. Staff attentive and professional. Beautiful sunset view from pier and good harbour watching spot. Both indoor and outdoor when available dining available.
Lovely little harbour side seafood restaurant with a very well-deserved reputation. Friendly staff, generally excellent service, and a wide variety of fairly unpretentious, extremely well-prepared fresh seafood at fair prices. Huge glass windows give a great view of the harbour - ask for a downstairs table with a view to make the most of it. There's a busy public pay and display carpark just behind the restaurant, we left our dogs in the car while we ate with no issues. Visited twice while we stayed near Oban and sampled a fair variety of the menu, all of which was excellent. Sadly couldn't try as much of their drinks menu as we'd have liked since we were driving, but they have a decent looking wine and cocktail menu, and of course an impressive whisky collection! Parking: Public pay and display carpark right outside the restaurant. Can be hard to find a spot straightaway at busy times.
Outstanding fish restaurant right on the harbour in Oban. Lovely to watch the fishing boats and ferries coming and going. Great menu with lots of yummy things to try. Lovely staff. Will definitely try to visit again.Food: 5/5
Very fresh seafood ! Every things in the picture tasted so fresh, not even one bad mussel. Reasonable price for seafood platter. Best to book in advance. My husband I went on Wednesday and the whole place filled up quite quickly.
Lovely food, especially the fish! Beautiful sea bass, monkfish tails. The crab was, well crab really always nice but not special.
