About The Ship of Adventures is a bookshop, gift-shop, café and events space run by The Hackney Pirates, a charity supporting young people in their learning. Story We work with a range of fantastic partners and suppliers to bring you the most unique products and experiences in coffee, books, gifts and events. All profits from The Ship of Adventures go to supporting educational workshops with young people. Follow us on twitter @shipoadventures About The Hackney Pirates The Hackney Pirates is an innovative educational charity designed to supplement the school system. We work with young people in Hackney to develop their literacy, confidence and perseverance, so that they achieve both in school and in the world beyond. We work exclusively with children who are identified by teachers and social workers as needing extra support because they are falling behind at school, and facing disadvantages in their personal circumstances. We support them with extra reading, writing and project-based learning opportunities.
