Story The Regent Shopping Centre is an indoor shopping mall located in the centre of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The centre is distinct from The Regent Centre, a shopping centre in Kirkintilloch.HistoryThe shopping centre was built in 1965. In 1998/99, a £9 million redevelopment converted the mall into an indoor shopping facility. This was to ensure it would still be a popular choice for shoppers for years to come.Hamilton itself is a principal shopping destination, located to the south-east of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. The town has a population of around 50,000, with a population of around 350,000 living within 10km.AccessibilityThe centre lies 150 metres away from Hamilton bus station and also has a bus stop on Duke Street at the Duke St door into the centre, so can be easily accessible by bus.
