About We are a team of highly passionate Dental professionals based at Essential Dental – Hitchin's central NHS Dental Practice in Hertfordshire. Story Essential Dental opened in October 2011, although the premises and name are new, the practice has been developed to offer the full range of NHS services for new clients as well as those who have been previously NHS patients of Bancroft Dentistry. Always welcoming new patients to our practice, we offer NHS treatments as well as private treatment available at our practice or at our sister practice Bancroft Dentistry. We try our best to accommadate to the patients in need for emergency appointments, regular check ups and treatment with as little waiting time as possible. Many of our patients are returning customers for many years, also some patients who have followed our very popular dentist Dr A.N. Whitfield. With his understand and calm response to our patients we know why they do!
