Mission Knowing Christ and making him known Worshipping God Worship is at the heart of all we do at St Barnabas. We seek to encounter the living God as we gather together to sing his praise, to hear His word to us, to receive His forgiveness and strength, and to bring our prayers to him. Being strengthened in our church services enables us to serve God in our daily lives. Building community We are the family of God bound together by the love of God. We aim to build one another up in love and faith through everyone exercising their God given gifts. This is done in so many different contexts, including our Prayer Ministry and Pastoral Care teams and the small groups that meet together regularly through the week. These groups are a great source of encouragement and support. In a time of increasing isolation and loneliness, everyone should find a place to belong and contribute at St Barnabas. Making disciples We long to see others become followers of Jesus Christ and so come to know the love, acceptance and forgiveness of God. We run regular Alpha courses for those who want to explore the Christian faith and to face some of life’s big questions. We also hold confirmation classes, nurture groups and other courses to help those who want to deepen their understanding of the faith. Loving our neighbour God sends us out from the church to share his love in active service. This is expressed through the work of Foodbank, Welcome Break and Boro Angels amongst other things – but it is also shown in the daily lives of each member of the congregation as we seek to show Christ’s love to all we meet.
