About In the early nineteenth century Nantgarw Chinaworks produced the finest porcelain ever created in the UK. Now a popular museum & contemporary arts centre. Story Nantgarw China Works is the only surviving 19th century porcelain works in the United Kingdom. In the early years of the 19th century the most beautiful porcelain every created in the UK was made at Nantgarw by William Billingsley. Nantgarw China Works is now part museum and part Art Centre still producing high quality contemporary porcelain through its resident ceramicists. A wide variety workshops take place at Nantgarw including Ceramics, Pottery, Glass making & Basket making. There is also an excellent and popular schools programme. Entry is Free.
