About Shoeburyness High School an England Basketball accredited school. SHSBA has 2 junior teams attached SHSBA Scorpions playing in the national leagues. Story The basketball academy is conducted by England Basketball advanced level coaches, giving students both male and female access to basketball practice which includes: - Development in technical and tactical skills - Individual training based around each players positional needs - Team offence and team defence - Fitness and weights programme including SAQ and core stability - Strength and conditioning programme In house guidance in injury prevention and physiotherapy Sport psychology and nutritional support Players will have the opportunity to gain their coaching and officiating qualifications by the national governing body Work experience to allow basketball related opportunities An opportunity to play under 18 and men's national league or local Essex league level. Players belonging to a club already can continue this commitment and the academy programme will NOT affect this. Advice for students to further pursue a playing career in basketball within a club or a university both in the uk and abroad Shoeburyness high school is located in Southend on Sea. Just a five minute walk from Thorpe Bay station which is on the London Fenchurch street rail line. We are currently looking for students in year 11 looking to continue their studies in either a variety of AS level qualifications or BTEC national level 3 Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science (equivalent to three A levels). Current students in Year 12 can also transfer their current qualification to continue their studies within the Basketball Academy.
