About The Groves is situated on a quiet tree lined cul-de-sac just a level ten minute walk from York Minster, the City Walls, and the City Centre beyond. Story On a quiet tree-lined grove, this large 4-star guest house is a 10-minute stroll from York city centre and offers free parking, en suite rooms and bar/lounge facilities. The main building dates back to the late 1800s and The Groves still has some charming original features, such as a splendid grand staircase and patterned windows. The bar is open until 23:00 each day. Guests can relax and read the daily newspapers, with a selection of beers and wines available throughout the day. Bedrooms are located in either the main building or in 2 separate buildings around the car park. Please note that The Groves does not have a lift.
