About The Lister offers general and specialist hospital services for people across much of Hertfordshire and south Bedfordshire and provides a full range of medical and surgical specialties. Story The Lister is main specialist hospital for inpatient and emergency care for people working and living in much of Hertfordshire and south Bedfordshire. In total, it has some 620 inpatient and related beds. It provides a wide range of medical, surgical and critical care specialties, as well as full 24/7 emergency department and the Diamond Jubilee Maternity Unit. The Lister also has the usual range of outpatient and diagnostic services. An increasing number of regional and sub-regional specialties are now based at the Lister, including urology, renal medicine, the Trust's 24/7 heart attack centre and an acute stroke service.
