About Established in 1904. Working boathouse for over 100 years, the Cherwell Boathouse is an iconic Oxford punt station, restaurant and event space. Story Established in 1904 and still a family run working Boathouse and restaurant with 80 handmade punts in the water. The punting season is mid March to mid October open 10am - dusk, dependant on the weather. The well known local restaurant has a superlative wine list and is open all year round with an alfresco terrace on the decking in the summer. In season the Tea-hut bar and cafe serves light food, snacks and refreshments throughout the day. We have a large marquee overlooking the Cherwell, as well as a lower boathouse area for private bookings and events such as weddings, birthdays and corporate entertainment all year round.
