About We are an organisation of women committed to the eradication of Domestic Abuse. We strive to raise the profile of women and children affected by it. Story This page is a place for people who want to end domestic abuse in their communities. We welcome debate and discussion and look forward to hearing your ideas on how we can all make a difference. This page is pro-equalities, which means we will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or ablelism. Mission South Ayrshire Women's Aid is a feminist organisation which was founded during the second wave of the Women's Liberation movement. SAWA recognises that Domestic Abuse and other forms of gender based violence(rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, commercial sexual exploitation/trafficking, rape as a weapon of war, female genital mutilation, forced marriage) are the result of an imbalance of power both within our society and globally. All forms of abuse are a violation of human rights. As an organisation we aim to raise awareness of these issues and to campaign against them.
