It is still possible to visit and view the castle and surrounding area.Yester Castle was originally built by Hugo de Giffard during the late twelfth century.Although much of it is in ruins, the castle is unique, atmospheric and full of surprises. Can you find the hidden Goblin Ha'?Google directions take you via a farm. The owners have requested that rather than crossing the farm, you enter via the road at Danskine or park at the golf course to get to the castle.Beware of steep drops and uneven footing. Ground is muddy in bad weather, come prepared.Please be responsible when approaching the castle, ensure dogs are kept on leads, take rubbish home etc."
