About Official Page for the friendly Red Lion Pub Shirley, keeping you up to date on your local and the weekly events and bands in our function room. Story The Red Lion Shirley is a friendly pub situated at the heart of the Shirley community in the middle of the high street. The rear lounge/bar has been renovated to provide a modern, spacious and exciting venue for gigs, parties, and meetings of any kind; in which catering can be provided. We have also added a purpose built, heated and sheltered smoking area to the rear. There is plenty of free parking surrounding the pub. Currently we run regular band/music nights, such as Folk Night and Blues Open Mic Nights put together by the best performers in Birmingham. Another favourite is Only After Dark - a 70's/80's themed event. We're looking to run more band/music nights on a regular basis to expand the already excellent collection of performers that we support.
