About We're a volunteer-led community cafe with healthy and affordable vegetarian and vegan food that is organic, fairtrade and locally-sourced where possible. Story Crocus cafe was set up in 2004 as a social enterprise organization based around eight core values or "ethos": 1. Community 2. Volunteer-led 3. Healthy and Affordable 4. Vegetarian and Vegan 5. Fairtrade 6. Organic 7. Locally-sourced 8. Eco-friendly. The cafe is run by a group of volunteers (the Board of Directors) and is predominantly volunteer-led. At Crocus cafe, we serve the local community with food and drink at not-for-profit prices, and any profit that is made goes back into promoting our ethos and supporting local community projects. We welcome all types of volunteers and are dedicated to making sure that they gain valuable work experience while with us. Volunteering at Crocus cafe is a great way to make friends and get involved with the local community; it is also a great opportunity for people looking to gain work experience and improve upon their skills.
