About British volunteer army reservists (Territorial Army), a Regiment-sized unit from 1859 to 1967, since when the serving contingent has been reduced to rifle company strength and part of composite battalions, currently the London Regiment. Story A Territorial Army sub-unit (rifle company), part of the London Regiment, of which it forms D (London Irish Rifles) Company. It is based at Connaught House, 4 Flodden Road, Camberwell, SE5 9LL, but has an outlying Platoon at 1a Iverna Gardens, Kensington, W8 6TN. Current role pending full development of the "Future Reserves 2020" plan, is, as part of the London Regiment, to support the five Regiments of Foot Guards on operations as required. Within that, there is a special linkage between the London Irish Rifles and the Irish Guards. Products Trained Territorial Army infantry soldiers able to deploy alongside and in support of the British Regular Army on operations.
