About The Meadowside Leisure Centre is a local authority facility operated by East Staffordshire Borough Council, located near the centre of Burton upon Trent. Story The leisure centre was originally opened in 1980 and went through a £5million refurbishment in 2010. The leisure centre facilities include a 75 station fitness suite a 25 metre main pool and a 13 metre teaching pool, an indoor sports hall which can house 6 badminton courts, 2 five a side football pitches, 2 basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts and 2 cricket nets, 3 self contained squash courts a gold star awarded café, meeting rooms, crèche and play area.
