About Award winning family run Steak House in the heart of Devon. Story The Old Fire Station Steak House The Steak House was the main fire station in Crediton from the 1940’s until the mid 1960’s and was saved from dereliction by us in 2006. After 12 months of restoration and lots of hard work, we opened in March 2007. Our award winning food is sourced locally from our town butcher, baker ...and vegetable shop and is freshly prepared and cooked to order by Sarah, who has over 20 years of professional cooking experience behind her. Come in and enjoy our mouth watering range of local beef steaks, free range chicken, wild salmon, venison and gammon but to name a few. There is always a vegetarian option available and we have a range of exotic steaks for the more adventurous among you. Not forgetting Sarah’s homemade desserts. We also have a good range of local ales and ciders along with an extensive wine list and the usual drinks at the bar to choose from. Our awards include “Best Restaurant” in Mid Devon, East Devon and Exeter 2009/2010 by The Devon Social Group. We also have Gold medals for Quality, Value and Service and a “Healthy Eating Award” presented to us by Mid Devon District Council.
