About:
About The Hundred House was built in 1524 (under the reign of King Henry VIII) & was the first Radnorshire Court House. In 1870 the building became a Free House Story Following a major renovation & restoration of the 500 year old Radnorshire Court House, the Hundred House Inn re-opened in Spring 2017 & quickly started to gain a 5 star reputation. For more details: www.facebook.com/pg/bleddfa/reviews Impressum Hundred House - History Constructed during 1524 using local Radnor stone and under the reign of King Henry VIII, The Hundred House was built for use as the first formal Radnorshire Court House and obtained its name due to it serving initially 100 families and then 100 towns, villages and hamlets in the county. Judges ruled over civil and criminal cases for 350 years until the 1870’s when the Courts were transferred to the larger local town of Presteigne and the redundant Tudor/Medieval property was converted for use as a public house. Having been acquired by new owners in 2015 and following a major investment (during which the property was also extended with traditional Oak Framed materials and construction methods) the restored/renovated/extended property reopened for business in April 2017. The original court house is now a family home and the Restaurant (The Hundred House Inn) occupies the site of the Barn & Stables that was built to serve the Judges, Legal Officers & members of the public whilst visiting the courts. We wich you a warm welcome & to reserve your table, please call us on 01547 550441. "Hundred House Inn Bleddfa is a newly refurbished Country Pub. Bleddfa means “place of the wolf” and tradition has it that the last wolves in Wales were driven out of Radnor Forest into the valley here and killed. The main building was built in 1524, was originally the Court House and lodgings for Judge’s to hear cases for One Hundred Houses in the area. In the 1880s, the Court was moved and the Property became an Coaching Inn."
