About We tell the story of the Royal Navy's submarine service. Story A visit to the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Gosport, Hampshire allows the visitor to dive into history and go onboard on our submarines which include Holland 1, the very first British submarine built in 1901 and the only surviving walk through WWII submarine in the UK - HMS Alliance with a veteran submariner to hear his stories about living beneath the waves. Play at being a submarine commander in our interactive galleries and relax in our great coffee shop overlooking Portsmouth Harbour. Last entry time is 1 hour before closing.
