About Welcome to The Royal Station Hotel at Carnforth Story Glen Pearson and Maggie Dainty had been looking for a B&B or hotel for a while, to complement Glen’s other business interests, both situated in Carnforth, and when the Royal Station Hotel came onto the market, they felt it was an opportunity not to be missed. “When we came round to see it, we saw just how much potential the hotel had”, said Glen. “Since we’ve moved in we have found that there is so much enthusiasm from the local community to return it to its former glory.” Glen and Maggie have big plans for the hotel, not least for the large bar to the rear of the hotel, which has been named ‘The Junction’, with a successful emphasis on live music. There are also plans for new kitchens, an outdoor eating area overlooking Carnforth Station, and some radical menu changes, including traditional, home-cooked pizzas and a tapas bar. “We’ve heard from the locals that this was a very popular venue in the 1960s and 1970s, and we plan to bring back the good times”, added Glen.
