Waiting 15 minutes for call to be answered despite saying estimated time is 3 minutes wait... this in itself is better than normal. However then having a 2 minute conversation with receptionist saying hello repeatedly and that booking are full for today hanging up on me whilst I was still talking !!
This is by far the worst GP practice I’ve ever been with! Only been here 12 months and my kids 3 and 1 have been turned away more times than I can count! With the old ring at 8am system I’d call dot on 8 and even if I got through within 5/10 mins I’d be turned away for an appointment for my children! Now that they use PATCHS we’re finally able to get an appointment but they ignore everything you write on the form! I specify days I am in work and they don’t even bother to read it, not only do they not bother to read when you’re available they don’t even read your symptoms! The staff are clueless about the new system and very unhelpful and priority seems to be given to elderly patients and not to young children! They’ve previously given my 1 year old when she was 11 months old an appointment with an ANP which isn’t even allowed! I most recently had to threaten legal action to get an appointment for my one year old which was the final straw. I’ve now moved so please save yourself the trouble and don’t join this appalling practice! I work in admin at a GP practice and know for a fact they should not be running things the way they are and some of the things they’re doing are illegal. Practice manager should be ashamed as should the partners
Nightmare to get through to on the phone but that's all nhs drs ! The team are lovely and always fit my kids on for an appointment the patches system is great though. The reception team are very helpful especially Debbie.
We have a 3 years old boy had appointments two times and always warm welcome from receptionist and special thanks to Dawn and Patrick for looking after our son. We are pleased very well with Eastham Group Practice.
If I'm told one more time that the "practice operates a model of totally clinical triage" when on hold, my head will explode... Apart from this I find the Doctors here are always very nice
I have just seen Darren ANP he was so helpful and went out of his way to help me, never had such good and thorough service.
My 82 year old mother is in very bad pain . She was told to ring for an appointment and at 07.59 the message said ring at 8.00 which she did . Bang on 8.00 and was then told call log full call back later . 13 times she rang and got the same response. So I took her to the surgery and she finally got an appointment . 1 person behind the reception and for 15 minutes no phones rang not once . So where is this mysterious phone centre . Anyone needing an appointment just go to the surgery and if there is a massive queue then this surgery should learn how to treat people . No wonder they were 3rd on the list of the worst surgeries on the wirral
Phoned the Surgery at 8.00am this morning on behalf of my 90 year old father, he had needed the emergency service at the weekend. They had advised he follow up with a GP appointment as their tests showed a concern which should be reviewed by the GP. Made many calls which were answered with "The queue is full, call back later". This is not a service, we will persevere and see if we ever get to the point of being able to make an appointment, but surely a 90 year old can't be expected to navigate this process.
Disgraceful service and they should be ashamed of themselves. These are the facts: 1. You cannot get through on the phone unless you try 7/8 times multiple times a day 2. If you do eventually get through, you are given appointment dates at least 3 weeks ahead 3. These so called 'appointments' are in fact telephone consultations 4. I'm 55 so maybe I am not a priority but my mother in-law is 88 with numerous health issues and all of the above applies to her too My advice to anyone is to find another practice and if this is the NHS that I am being asked to support with increased pay for doctors then they can think again. Awful, awful, awful
Edit: I have increased my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I am still not happy about what has happened, but recently especially since the introduction of Patch’s the service has improved quite a bit. A way to go still though. I have been with Eastham Group Practice for over 40 years and I will be leaving soon. The service is abysmal since Dr Bush retired. It is impossible to see a doctor, even if you specifically ask for one. Instead you are seen by other medical staff, who I can only describe as hostile and make you wish that you hadn’t ’disturbed’ them. I feel very uncomfortable each time I go now. A consultant asked me to complete a form and pass it on to the gp, who was then instructed to send it back to the consultant. I gave the form to the surgery in November. I chased it up yesterday 19th April and they hadn’t sent it on to the consultant. They promised to send it that day. Just 5 months late. Another example… I was very ill with a chest infection. I had a chest x ray and after a few days I received a text that an appointment with a gp had been made for me in 6 days time. The gp told me I needed antibiotics. So the surgery knew for 6 days that I needed antibiotics and didn’t inform me. I complained and many months later I haven’t heard anything, even after chasing it up. I will be going to a higher authority. The gps are very helpful themselves, but it seems they are now a protected species. What a shame.
