The Eastern Esplanade car park is at one end of Shanklin Esplanate, it’s beside a sailing club on one side and a cafe on the other. There are adequate places, although there is a serious “but.” If it’s windy, the car park gets covered in salt spray at high tide and there are puddles of salt water.
Paid by phone quite easy to do. Lots of spaces and walks either into the beach one way or around the cliffs the other way. Toilets are just by the entrance, under repair so not in a great condition.
Went here today as in the motorhome parking council list. It's all dug up and we were lucky to be able to turn to get out.
Good parking spot, but had trouble getting signal for pay by phone app. Same problem in Freshwater. Island coverage can be annoying in these cases. Worth carrying some cash for parking.
OK for parking but unable to enjoy walk to Bonchurch along sea front due to works
