East Town Park Centre, Coupals Road Haverhill CB9 7UR: Parking is free and the park is open until 8 00. There are toilets here and a place where you can get small snacks and drinks where you can eat in or out. The park has a play area for children which is fenced off. There is a picnic area too Walking with dogs on a lead or just strolling around the area is pleasurable. It is well kept, tidy and rubbish free. There are places near with a river, bridges and biodiversity areas and signage to help. I am told events are held here too. Visited on St George's Day where a medieval renactment by 'The Companye of Merrie Folke' was taking place. Entrance to see their programme was a modest £4.00. Anyone wishing to use the park as usual and its facities were free to do so. There was music, a puppet show, dancing story telling and singing. Those taking part were able to tell their own historical story besides all their collection of artefacts. All in all a good day out. My grandchildren love East Town Park. Lots of well maintained, wooden equipment to climb, swing, ride, rock and jump on and over. If you bump into a park keeper, they always have time to say hi and talk to our children. The play area, the woodland, the river and the wildlife areas are always clean and bridges are looked after. There's an ice cream shop with great tea and coffee, the rest rooms have always been clean and stocked and our dog loves it there. Highly recommend
We visited this park with our 7 years kid. We all loved this place and are definitely coming back.
Even though it wasn't the best weather it was still lovely walking about and exploring and enjoying the views. I've been in the summers and its a terrific cheap day out for families, lots of paths and wooded areas to explore. Make it fun with the kiddies by turning over logs and looking for bugs . Wonderful park with something for all ages children and grow ups as you can see grandad enjoyed himself. Also finishing off by visiting the shop for a cuppa or a ice lolly. Ample parking which is really close and paths for wheelchairs.
Lovely park, free parking, good signage to find it, good toilets too. Some of the paths are pushchair friendly too so you can go from the car park, round the play area and round the flower beds easily. Some lovely bits to see the river safely too and lots of picnic benches. The play area was a bit busy when we went because the one for the older kids was closed & it was the bank holiday, but a really nice play area.
Exploring our new town and found this lovely location near the Haverhill golf club. Great for waking your dogs fabulous for kids and families all round!
I agree with all the posts regarding what a very good country park this is. But if you have young children as we have Then the dogs that are uncontrolled and are consistently jumping up on youngsters become an absolute pest. Such a shame that you have to be a dog lover to enjoy this place and not just a parent or grandparent.
Lovely little walk with a great play bit for kids! So happy I found this place, definitely coming back
Very nice to walk around. Has a shop with drinks, ice lollies and snacks and toilets if needed. Highly recommended.
Great park, not just to work at but great for kids to play in! Great fun for the whole family!
