I have never been to another falconry experience, so this experience was new and felt totally unique to me. It was an immersive one. We walked the ground of a beautiful 15th-century castle with our very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide Gerard, and one or two birds never far away. We learned so much about the art of falconry but most importantly about the birds of prey and their incredible superpowers. They are wonderful and full of character. We felt so so lucky to be part of this experience and will warmly recommend anyone to do the full day experience.
What an amazing experience it was! I absolutely loved it! We were in group of 6 lovely people and were flying hawk, kites and owl Gerard who was our guide has incredible knowledge about birds of pray and he’s such a friendly, entertaining person, everyone laughed a lot! I will definitely be back! Thank you so much for this!
We went today for my boyfriends birthday and we had the best time. I had great communication from Gemma over email. We fell in love with the long eared owl, Bramble. Gerard was amazing and you can really feel his pure passion for his birds. The grounds were stunning too and this was absolutely worth the money. One of the best gift experiences I have ever purchased and will be purchasing more for other family members!
We had the most amazing day with Gerard and the birds of prey! It's truly such an awesome day out and so involved. It's so lovely the see the birds in their natural habitat rather than in an arena like other falconry experiences. Would give more stars if I could!!
My husband and I had the most wonderful day at Herstmonceux, taking a succession of birds of prey flying in the woods and fields. Sublime! Gerard was a perfect host, filled with enthusiasm and knowledge. The best day of our year, by far. Thank you so much.
What an amazing experience!! We absolutely loved every minute of it. Gerard knew so much about the birds and clearly really cared about them - very hands on experience literally, would ABSOLUTELY recommend! In fact, I want to do it again!
May 10th 2021 what a fantastic afternoon walking through the woods with these fantastic birds. Gerard was so knowedgable and made the whole experience most enjoyable. The birds love him and i will be back again. Good value for money
Amazing day with Gerard and his hawks and owls . Very relaxing and looking forward to another visit soon . Would highly recommend the experience and well worth the money .
Absolutely superb visit! Thank you Gemma and Gerard! We treated ourselves to a private party of just the four of us for the afternoon, two senior citizens, one adult and one teenager! Walking through the beautiful woods and meadows of Herstmonceux Castle with Gerard showing us his excellent skills with his raptors, helped by Gemma, we were treated to interacting with a magnificent hawk, an owl and two kites. Gerard's knowledge and history of his birds is quite remarkable and recounted in a most captivating way. Thoroughly recommend this experience!
Wow. Where to even begin? Myself and my partner got gifted a full days falconry experience with these guys, and I'm already planning a return trip in the springtime with some more people. Gerard, Adam, thank you so much for the incredible time on Sunday. We could not have enjoyed ourselves more and are itching to get back over there as soon as possible. These guys have a wonderful bond with the raptors and it's clear that they care immensely about every aspect of their craft, the bird's wellbeing and educating people about them. They're so keen to show you their world and their enthusiasm has had a lasting effect. The area it takes place is stunning - Herstmonceux castle and the grounds surrounding it is the perfect setting for this. We were also quite lucky with the weather, Mid-November so we were hoping it wasn't postponed and enjoyed a clear, slightly breezy day. Absolute favourite part? Honestly too hard to decide. Bramble the long-eared owl provided some gorgeous close up pictures and loved the attention. The pair of kites swiping food from our gloves was exhilarating to say the least, and Cruise the vulture was quite happy to plod along with us, stopping to peck at our shoe laces when they caught his eye! We were expecting a field with a couple of birds flying back and forth. You guys blew it out of the water. We still absolutely be back - Look forward to seeing you guys again! ~ James and Becky
