The coffee is awful: insipid coffee taste, far too much milk in a cappuccino. It was so bad I think the machine must have been broken.
Was anxious about my dog tied outside & travelling late. Got I'D for alcohol. No sweat, could be an honest mistake - I'm 35 though and after trying two of my bags can't dig all the way through my rucksack full of clothes and dog outside so apologised and just checked on the dog before trying to continue with rest of purchase. The woman just grabs the beer off me and barks something about you gotta take it off the till.. was pretty rude & having worked retail know there's better ways to handle customers in these situations. Avoid if you're a nervous traveller.
Was paying in the self-service area when I heard a woman shouting very aggressively at a group of people that had just walked in. She wanted them to go outside because the store was limiting the number of customers due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The customers looked bemused. Her approach was not not at all what I would expect in a retail environment. While processing my payment I encountered a problem with the Chip and pin machine. I asked a member of staff at the counter for help and then I heard the same woman shouting “step back from the machine“. I wasn’t aware that she was trying to communicate with me and she then repeated her command extremely loudly. I can honestly say I have never been treated with such contempt, and disrespect in a retail store. Her tone of voice and overall manner suggested I was about to be tasered! East of England Co-op: please train your staff properly. Don’t treat us like you resent our custom.
New layout is confusing for all. Lots of cold pies and cakes. Food to go and random bits u might need on a journey. Coffee machine. Some alcoholic drinks. Fancy chocolate bars. Seem to be gaps in ideas like nothing much for vegans. Peculiar water filling thing where they charge u to fill a water bottle. Some low priced bits like hot pies, the rest what u would expect from a railway mini mart.
They don't have butter only margarine. No good chocolate. No cream. It's nice and warm inside though, albeit that's not a defining feature of a grocery store.
Pleasant, friendly staff. It's ok to grab a snack but really limited choice of normal groceries, so don't expect to be able to do a proper "food shop" in here.
Obnoxious staff just because I wanted a scratch card and I was with my children they wouldn't serve me .... Just go to m&s across the way ...
Great staff, good selection of foods but not ideal for main shop. Snacks galore. American sweets and confectionary. Meal deal and more.
Located within Norwich train station.Small but reasonably well stocked . Not the place you'd go to do your weekly shop but handy to pick up a few essentials.
It's a small and expensive shop but you can get here anything you need before your journey.
