Chinese restaurants serving real, traditional food are hard to come by. Fortunately, for residents of Croydon, they have East Meets West. All the dishes I had had flavour in abundance. My favourite were the handmade dumplings - definitely an upgrade from the frozen ones I normally have at home. Some of the dishes were a little on the oily side but this is entirely down to what you order. The staff are super-friendly and are happy to recommend dishes to you.
Went here by default. .. planned to go to An Nam upstairs Vietnamese restaurant but they were closed a tour group of about 20 turned up just as we arrived- all Chinese very good sign! Had a great waitress who, even though alone and run off her feet, took the time to recommend a selection of food. Authentic and delicious x pity some of the crockery was chipped but nevertheless it detracted nothing from the food would highly recommend this little gem
Really gross food. We were looking forward to a nice meal and instead we ended up feeling slightly sick. Never have I ever seen or tasted pork belly so dry. You would think it impossible to obliterate pork belly until it is like cardboard but I witnessed that today.
Enjoyed a meal at 'East Meets West', friendly service, tasty food, the lunch menu was good value for money with pleasant decor and traditional Chinese music playing.
Absolutely terrible, food was cold no service, got bit of food in dribs and drabs, £15 per head but didn't bring any one order out, you get 3 hours to eat so the just let you sit there , most of what did come out was very badly cooked, I could of done better myself, told them I want the food orders stopped and refused to pay the full price, we all walked out and will never go back, ruined our evening.
It's the one place we go to for some decent SiChuan and NorthWestern Chinese food. The service is really good, and it's child friendly.

This place has permanently closed down and the business owner is on the run.
