Ordered 4 outfits. Collected 48hours before wedding. Collect & Go no try on 1st problem Grooms shoes were falling apart. Got changed no bother. 2nd problem 3 out of 4 outfits Did Not Fit. They had to return to shop Fri afternoon and to be fair the lady had all the outfits waiting on the guys and tried them on - Perfect.. Fast Forward 90 mind before the wedding car Usher gets ready to find he was given the kilt he returned the previous day - PANIC - OUTCOME - NO USHER. Photographer had to told no too table photos. To make matters worse Groom Best Man & Ushers are Brothers. The lady in the shop was ever so apologetic and refunded the cost of the ONE outfit. Recap. Burst Shoes..Grubby Shirts & Socks. Lady in Shop is Lovely and I Do Believe This Was A Warehouse Person To Blame For This MESS. My Advice is Try On Before Leaving Shop. Look What Happened To Our Wedding after 2 years in Planning Mrs Melrose.
I've been here twice and that's twice too many for me. First time - my sister's wedding - they measured me up for everything and we had to argue to get the stuff a day earlier than usual with my mum being told she was "a bit uptight about this wedding" by the woman in the shop. When we went to collect, the waistcoat was massive and had no way to adjust it although it would still have looked ridiculous if it had. We were then told that they didn't do stuff in my size, which they should really have told us when they measured me, not 2 days before the wedding. It also seemed a bit odd since lots of local kids go there for prom stuff. Anyway, we called Slaters and they sorted us out in no time. Fast forward a few years to me being a groomsman at a friend's wedding. I went in, got measured, etc. This time I was also getting a kilt so I asked about matching flashes. I was told they came with the kilts. A couple of days before the wedding, we get the stuff and find that I'm still too skinny for them to give me a waistcoat that fits. Thankfully I now own one of the same style, and the jacket was fine. Also, no one had flashes. Only good experience I've had was when I bought a pair of kilt socks, but it's hard to mess that up. Sorry, I like supporting local businesses, but for kilt hire go to Slaters.
Absolute joke of a shop. After 3 visits to correct problems with my husbands outfit we set of for our daughters wedding in Troon only to discover on the big day that yet again his shirt did not fit. Wearing a 48 inch waistcoat and jacket why on earth wd they include a slim fit shirt !!!! Luckily we had a ghillie shirt for him to wear but it meant we have no pictures with our daughter in his formal outfit. I cant begin to explain how angry I am. I'm wondering if they will contact us after seeing this review to offer us some sort of compensation for our upset but I doubt very much they will as to be honest once they have your money they couldn't care less. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP !!!!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! Absolute shambles of a place, Ordered kilt for my little boys first communion, was told it would be ready to collect on the Wednesday before Saturday hire received a call on the Thursday saying it would now be Friday collection and before 1pm, turns up to collect kilt and it was a box of mismatched items, not what I ordered and didn’t match in the slightest, now left without a kilt the day before my sons communion! Shocking service!
can't give a review as tried twice to support this shop and closed on each occasion! fri 28/4-on website 'open til 5pm'.got there 4.30-handwritten note on door closing 4pm sat29/4-on website 'open til 3pm'.got there 2.40-handwritten note on door closing 2pm. advice to anyone thinking of supporting this local business - 1.don't bother 2.don't believe times on website 3.phone to check if open
Very nice and able to change certain aspects of my hire the day before the wedding which was great. They don’t stick to their opening times though so ring ahead
First class service that couldn't have been more helpful especially for a novice like me. Excellent price and again first class and very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.
Good service and great kilt hire prices. Few small issues with ill fitting shirts but quickly remedied by the friendly staff.
